The Flow Direction arrow is correct, which is a problem with all other filters I have purchased in the past from other manufacturers. I just wish there was one made of a plastic nylon material that did not get wet and retain water. The (optional, Dealer installed or sold separately) Mopar housing is a very poor design and seems like an afterthought. There is virtually no way to keep the filter from getting wet, in the rain or the carwash. The housing cover does not fit well so I wrapped it with electrical tape. I also used caulking to seal up the (separately sold) housing to the firewall, as the housing is a very poor fit. I found Amazon carried quite a large selection of brands to choose from, so I chose the cheapest one, & a medium price one,& ordered them both. The medium priced one,(TYC brand-$13.52), had more pleats per inch, than the cheaper one,(Mann brand-$2.87)so you are getting more filter for your dollar. At 4.7 times the price, I'll let you know how time weighs out the difference. I suspect the more expensive, TYC filter will do a better job, but at 4.7 times the price will it be worth it? We will see. Here in Alaska we have a lot of glacial,& river silt, fine dust. In about six months we'll see how much dust is in the vehicles,& how well they both held-up. The filter looks awesome, brobably catches more dirt then some cheaper models, But as a Side note the Jeep WJ Grand Cherokee 1999-2004 probably does not have a "CABIN AIR FILTER KIT MOPAR 82208300". I just got back from takeing to installing it, and I do not have a Cabin filter kit to put this filter in. I have a 2002 Overland, and if you know your models thats the high end one with all the features you would want, just not the cabin filter or cabin filter kit. SO I sudgest ordering the kit. I just called dealership and they call it a Complete kit, meaning model MOPAR 82208300 comes with a filter. FYI. Checkahead of time before ordering a filter or kit. Fo me a spare filter is all good. Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 4, 2011 I wish I would have known that this filter was optional equipment on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee BEFORE I purchased this. My Jeep did not come with this option, so there was no box to put the filter in. The directions stated if there is no housing "just buy one". I wasn't going to spring for a housing, but...I do a lot of dusty 4wheeling--so I just duct taped the filter to where the box would be. Optional equipment...on the Jeep 3 star bolts hold the plastic panel (where the passenger side windshield wiper goes through). Then pull the rubber molding holding this plastic to to metal in the engine compartment and that's where the housing box should be (two clips on top of housing and the filter would be inside). You can purchase the filter/housing combo on Amazon for $36 as of 11/21/2014. I taped mine in because I had just dropped about 2k in the Jeep and was done spending money for now. . . Does a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee have a cabin air filter?@holbrooks all 1999-2004 Grand Cherokee WJ series models feature a housing for installation of a cabin air filter but no models have ever come with the filter as standard. It must be purchased as a Mopar aftermarket accessory and installed under the front cowl.
