Is mcdonalds hot fudge sundae gluten free

Here is the complete McDonald’s gluten-free menu.

McDonald’s does not claim to offer gluten-free products, but they do have a few items that technically don’t contain gluten. They don’t have a gluten-free bun option for their burgers, and they also state on their website that food is normally prepared in a shared cooking environment, so cross-contamination may be a problem here. However, they do have a few smaller items like salads, a couple of sides, and desserts if you’re just looking for a snack to go.

McDonald’s History

McDonald’s was formed in the middle of the great depression by two brothers, Richard and Maurice McDonald. They set out from their hometown of New Hampshire, heading west with the dream of striking it big in Hollywood. After working at menial jobs for producers and movie directors, they opened their first small drive-thru restaurant in San Bernardino, California on May 15, 1940. Little did they realize that this would be their ticket to achieving the Great American Dream.

The original McDonald’s restaurant was based at the junction of E and 14th Streets, only a few blocks away from the popular Route 66 of California. It started small by serving slow-cooked barbecue, prepared in a fire pit piled with hickory pellets sourced from Arkansas. Their feature item was a barbecued ham, pork or beef sandwich with French fries that retailed for only 35 cents. They also had a versatile 25 item menu that included desserts such as chili tamales, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, and baked beans. Their stylish hamburger drew in customers in large numbers.

Nevertheless, it’s only after World War II that the two brothers realized that 80% of their sales were coming from hamburgers. They decided to change their strategy by focusing on hamburgers as their main menu. This meant overhauling the business for three months and switching out physical plates and silverware for paper wrapping and disposable cups.

Today, McDonald’s is the largest fast-food chain in the world, serving approximately 58 million customers on a daily basis. They operate around 32,000 locations globally spread across a total of 117 countries. The company has around 1.7 million employees and the percentage of restaurants that have been franchised internationally is 75%. With McDonald’s rapid expansion into various international markets, the company has become a true symbol of globalization as well as a representation of the ‘American’ lifestyle. Its popularity has also made the company a frequent topic of discussion on matters regarding corporate ethics, obesity, and consumer responsibility.
