Customers also searchProduct DescriptionBilstein 5100 shocks utilize a monotube design, with a 46mm digressive piston, to increase road handling characteristics both on and off-road. The single tube body allows for rapid heat transfer between the shock oil to the shock body, and then dissipated further to reduce shock fade. German engineering combined with US manufacturing ensures optimum performance and longevity for upwards of 100k miles (real customer feedback!). The 5100 series is more compliant in tougher situations and off-road terrain compared to the 4600 series. Factory spec vehicles should use the 4600 series shocks as the valving is more appropriate for daily driven vehicles and pavement environments. Product informationTechnical Details

These shocks returned it back to stock ride quality and it drives so smooth now. Reviews with imagesTop reviews from the United StatesThere was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2022 Easy install good shock for the money Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2022 They are super stiff so installation tooka bit of work. Well worth the effort though, previously had Rough Country and they didn't ride like these even brand new. Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2022 Installed on a Jeep Wrangler jk and the rubber bushing it comes with and washer do not fit the shock. It leaves no gap to screw on the shocks. Check YouTube since this is a manufacture issue. I had to reuse the stock ones which are used up so make sure to buy new washers and bushing from the dealer. Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2022 Shocks look great, The ride is great and they are a great value. Bilstein shock are the only way to go. Best value for the money and you don't
have to send them in for rebuilds like the other Xox brand. Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2020 Installed these Bilstein 5100's on my 2013 JKU - the passenger front side is going to take a while, there is limited space and there are some modifications you'll have to do to the inside fender well. In order to get the shock in you'll have to be patient, one thing I was not to happy about is that you can't use both of the new rubber grommets that come with the shocks. In order for it to fit in you have to use one of the old ones and one new one. It also seems that there is not a lot of upward travel space on the shock once they're installed, and that was after I took off the original shock mounting extension which is on the vehicle. I was replacing the original shocks. It does ride better I think but I have to play with the tire pressure as well to get the right feel that I was looking for. So for now I am giving it 4 stars if after today 5/28/2020 it gets better I'll update this review. Take your time with this project, it's not a quick install. It does go way faster after the front passenger side is out of the way. Okay, today is the 29th of May 2020. The back install was smooth but... you are going to need smaller bolts on the upper mount two each side. I got mine at Home Depot. They were 25 cents a piece, the new bolts will replace the one you take out from the shock extension on the rear shocks. Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2022 I bought these after a buddy hyped them up. They are on the stiffer side compared to Gox 2.0 or similar. but that is what I need after putting a heavier engine in my jeep. They wend on without issues after struggling to get the rusted shocks off that these replaced. I would get them again in a heartbeat. Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2022 Definitely recommend, so much better ride quality in my jeep Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2021 They are somewhat better. I had 9 year old fox shocks on my 07 jeep and they started leaking but if I had compare both it’s almost the same. They also forgot hardware and I had to modify the the rear bearings on the shocks because it would slide in all the way on the mount . Kinda disappointed. Should of just gone with some rancho shocks, a lot cheaper too. How much lift do you get from Bilstein 5100?In addition to the increased travel and better dampening, the 5100 leveling shock comes with three height options from stock to 2.5 inches of lift, depending on the application, and also comes with all OEM grade hardware and is guaranteed to outlast your vehicle or they will replace them for free.
Are Bilstein 4600 or 5100 better? Most drivers probably wouldn't even notice a difference between the 4600 and 5100 on their commute under the same vehicle and circumstances. The only real differences come if that same vehicle had a higher center of gravity from a lift kit, or if that same vehicle has larger wheels and tires over factory specs.
Do Bilstein 5100 lift the front?Using your factory coil spring the 5100 series ride height adjustable struts offer five position options for lifting the front of your truck or SUV up to 2.75” depending on application.
Is Bilstein 5100 Good offroad?Bottom Line. The 5100 series will get the job done, ride excellent, and still be good for offroad excursions on the weekend. The beefyness of the 6112 excels at all of the above and then some, there's significantly more damping capability offroad and offgrid.
