Sep 15, 2020 As the title reads, what is the max size tire I could put on a stock Jeep Grand Cherokee? I have a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 75 Anniversary Edition. Standard Suspension. Currently, the stock tires are 265/50-20. I have heard that I could put 275/55-20 on without any rubbing issues, but it seems tight. Anyone have this size tire on their Jeep that
isn't lifted? Or do you have or recommend a different size? Joined

I personally run 265 65r18 Falken Wildpeak AT3w's on my 2012 Laredo X. The only non stock suspension additions have been a set of Bilstein shocks all around, but the tires were there prior to the new shocks. I've read plenty of other posts, in various forums, stating that there are no issues with this size being used as a replacement
for the OEM tires. Joined

32s without modifications. 33s with a pinch weld modification. Tread edge side design and width also factor in, and lifting is not material to tire size with the JGC in this generation. Note that if you upsize your tires, you must also upsize your spare to a tire of the same diameter to avoid damage to your drivetrain if you have 4x4. Your speedo and
odo will also be inaccurate and changing that is a process you must do yourself after acquiring software that can do the task. Joined May 31, 2017 · 246 Posts
I know that 285/50-20's (32x11.50) fit at stock height with no rubbing. I'm running them on my leveled (2") 2020 but we also ran that size on my daughter's stock 2014. Joined May 22, 2011 · 681 Posts
What size you run based on the metric equivalent can be tricky but as a rule of thumb when upsizing you can usually go one series in either height or width. The above chart provided by CheYeNNe71 is what you need to verify your fitment with. So what you asked would be correct in your sizing info. What’s important to remember is that manufacturing
processes can make tire diameter’s different from manufacturer to manufacturer. The metric sizes are the best in overall “true” dimension’s unlike general sizing say a 33x12.50.17 can vary in height by 1/2”. With what your looking to do is split about 1‘ 1/4” height by about 1/4” in width. Which means your splitting the overall height gained in half once mounted. In essence you’d moving from a tall 30” inch or a small 31” to pretty much true 32” which should clear easily although you may find in
the winter the snow pack will accumulate inside the wheel well because of the felt liner’s uncanny ability to attract debris like flies to flypaper. Joined 10 mo ago · 2 Posts
Just got 275/65/R18 Duratracs on my '18 Trailhawk and notice very slight rubbing when on a descent while turning the wheel. Overall they look really aggressive. Fill the wells pretty nicely, truck looks beefier.
