Mazda 3 Hatchback ComparisonYou May Also LikeI just got an oil change (synthetic) on my 2014 Mazda 3. About 3 days later (100km later) an icon lit up on my dash with a small wrench symbol. I dont really know what it means, and didn't see it in my manual. Hope one of you can explain what to do? I bought the car about 10 months ago, used. It is at about 72,500 km. level 1 I'm pretty sure the wrench is just a maintenance indicator (for oil changes, tire rotations, and scheduled appointments). They probably didn't reset it correctly during your oil change. Just to be safe, you can check what the issue is by doing the following on your infotainment: Home screen -> Applications -> Warnings level 1 Look in the index under I for indicator lights and you'll see 'wrench' as one of them. level 1 Did you reset the counter for your oil change after it was done. If not then just reset it and the light will go away. That’s just letting you know that it’s time for maintenance level 2 There is the occasional instance where there's a secondary maintenance schedule not visible in the infotainment that needs to be reset manually with a sequence; I had to do it on my 2018 with all schedules turned off on the infotainment. level 2 Thanks! I actually got my first oil change about 100km before the light when on. Good timing I guess. With synthetic oil should it last 8000km? The default (upon buying the car) for oil change in my settings was 8k. level 2 And you can reset it yourself, Google it or check the manual, I forget how just now. level 2 Thanks, you were right. It doesn't appear to be a "smart senor" in that it will assess oil quality. Rather it is automatically set to come on after 8000km, is that the right amount of km for sythetic? level 1 If resetting it in your infotainment doesn't clear it, that means that it's the "other" maintenance that needs to be reset (Not visible on your infotainment).
