Demon Slayer Show The mystery of when Demon Slayer season 2’s release date has been solved at last, and as promised, it will indeed be making it out in 2021. But not without a little detour first. Before we head to the Entertainment District for Demon Slayer season 2, Funimation has announced that it’s turning the smash-hit Mugen Train feature film into a 7 episode series that will start airing on October 10. This is not just the movie chopped up into bits, but will also include “70 new scenes, new music tracks, new open and ending animation, episode previews and new theme songs." 70 new scenes certainly sounds like a lot, and it makes sense, give than Mugen Train is just under two hours long, which would be six, 20 minute episodes, but this run will be 7 episodes. So that’s seemingly a significant amount of new footage. Demon Slayer Mugen Train Then, all of this leads into the Entertainment District arc for season 2 itself, which will begin on Sunday, December 5, and will feature an hour-long premiere. Demon Slayer first debuted in 2019, so fans have been waiting a very, very long time for this. In the interim, the Mugen Train movie broke all Japanese box office records and performed extremely well in the west at the same time. Another side note is the fact that a new Demon Slayer fighting game is being released on October 15, which is made by CyberConnect2, and has animation extremely faithful to the original series. That’s coming out on all consoles, including PS5 and Xbox Series X, and PC, and is a full $60 title. Demon Slayer is a unique success in anime, breaking boundaries into film and into the west like few other titles before it. There is plenty of manga left to adapt, so I would expect to see it around for a good long while. And with fewer delays due to COVID, we will probably see future seasons take less time to arrive than the eternal wait we’ve had for season 2 here. Technically, Funimation is counting the 7 episode Mugen Train arc as part of season 2 going forward here, but the never-before seen stuff will begin in December once that has wrapped. Plenty to look forward to, and stay tuned for more info including new trailers, no doubt, as we get closer. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. Demon Slayer is almost back for its second season, but before the anime returns it will get a brief arc that recuts the Mugen Train movie into seven episodes. This arc will start on Oct. 10, while Demon Slayer season 2 will be released on Dec. 5. Update (Oct. 7): Crunchyroll has released a new promo trailer for Demon Slayer’s Mugen Train arc and the official season 2 Entertainment District arc. Demon Slayer’s return to the Mugen Train arc won’t be exactly what fans saw in theaters. Instead, the short prequel arc will try to seamlessly bridge the gap between the anime’s first and second seasons by expanding the movie into seven separate episodes with several new scenes. The arc will also include an entirely original episode that takes place before the events of the movie. As for Demon Slayer’s actual second season, it will start off with a special hour-long episode when it premieres on Sunday, Dec. 5. The anime’s second season will follow the events of the manga’s Entertainment District arc, which will introduce the series’ latest major demon, Daki. For now, Funimation has announced that the Mugen Train arc will be available to stream on the Funimation website along with Hulu and Crunchyroll. Season 2 will also be available to stream on Funimation and Crunchyroll.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a Japanese anime series based on the manga series of the same title, written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge. The second season adapts volumes seven to eleven (chapters 55–97) of the manga series and ran in two cours, with the first part titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train Arc, a seven-episode recompilation of "Mugen Train" as featured in the 2020 anime film, featuring new music and an all new original episode, which aired from October 10 to November 28, 2021.[1][2] The second part is titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc which aired 11 episodes, from December 5, 2021, to February 13, 2022.[3] The season was directed by Haruo Sotozaki, with character designs by Akira Matsushima, and animation produced by Ufotable; staff and cast from the first season and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train also returned.[4][5] For the Mugen Train Arc, the opening theme is "Akeboshi" (明け星, lit. "Morning Star") while the ending theme is "Shirogane" (白銀, lit. "Silver"), both performed by LiSA. "Homura" (炎, Flame) is used as the ending theme of episode 7. For the Entertainment District Arc, the opening theme is "Zankyō Sanka" (残響散歌, lit. "Song of Reverberation") while the ending theme is "Asa ga Kuru" (朝が来る, lit. "Daybreak"), both performed by Aimer.[2] Aniplex of America licensed the series outside of Asia and will stream it on Funimation[6] and Crunchyroll.[2] Muse Communication licensed the second season in Southeast Asia and South Asia;[7] they will stream it on iQIYI,[8] Bilibili,[9] WeTV,[10] Viu,[11] Netflix,[12] and Disney+.[13] Episode list[edit]Home media release[edit]Japanese[edit]Aniplex (Region 2 — Japan)
