Is pa getting another stimulus check 2023

Although the federal government is not likely giving residents more stimulus checks in 2022, some states have begun issuing their own.

Here’s what you need to know.

California

Californians will get up to $1,050 in stimulus checks to go towards “inflation relief,” according to CBS News. These checks will come out of the $308 billion state budget that Gov. Gavin Newsom signed earlier this month.

The inflation relief checks count as tax refunds that will send a total of $9.5 billion back to Californians.

Colorado

State residents who filed their 2021 tax return by June 30 will get a little extra cash by September. Individuals will receive $750 while joint filers will receive $1,500, according to Colorado’s Department of Revenue.

Filers who got an extension and filed by Oct. 17 will receive their payments by Jan. 31, 2023.

Delaware

In May, Delaware began sending “relief rebate” payments of $300 to taxpayers who filed a return in 2020 due to a budget surplus.

Most Delaware residents received these payments in May, and couples filing jointly can get $300 each.

Georgia

Gov. Brian Kemp signed legislation to give out rebate payments of $250 for single filers, $375 for heads of household and $500 for those filing jointly.

This stimulus package also came from a budget surplus in the state.

Hawaii

Residents whose income fell under $100,000 in 2021, or $200,000 for joint filers, will receive a $300 tax rebate this year. Dependents will also be eligible for the rebate. For those residents making more than $100,000, or $200,000 for joint filers, they will receive a one-time $100 check.

Payments could be mailed out as soon as late August, according to Hawaii’s Department of Taxation.

Idaho

Gov. Brad Little signed legislation in February that would give $75 to each taxpayer and dependent or 12% of their 2020 state income tax return, depending on which is greater.

Checks started being distributed in March.

Illinois

Starting July 1, the state passed an estimated $1.83 billion relief package. The package includes income and property tax rebates, as well as a short-term cut in sales taxes. Individuals who earned less than $200,000 in 2021 will get $50 in an income tax rebate while joint filers with incomes under $400,000 will receive $100, according to CNET.

Checks are expected to begin distribution the week of Sept. 12, finishing eight weeks later.

Indiana

Beginning in May, Indiana began sending $125 payments to all residents regardless of income. According to The Indianapolis Star, this is part of the state’s automatic taxpayer refund law.

Gov. Eric Holcomb is also urging state lawmakers to up the stimulus package by $225.

Maine

Maine recently started sending up to $850 in relief checks to its residents after the state went into a surplus for its budget.

All Maine residents have to do to receive a check is file a 2021 income tax return as a full-time resident of the state by Oct. 31, 2022 by checking this website.

New Jersey

Gov. Phil Murphy has proposed designating $53 million for $500 payments to those who file their taxes with a taxpayer identification number instead of a Social Security number.

This is in addition to fall 2021, when Murphy and the state legislature approved a budget that included $500 checks to 1 million New Jersey residents.

New Mexico

In early March, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham approved a measure that would give residents $250 for earning less than $75,000 a year and a $500 rebate for all residents.

The $250 rebates will be issued this month while the $500 rebate will be sent in two payments — one occurred in June, and the other will occur in August.

Oregon

Around 236,000 low-income Oregon residents, who worked during the pandemic, will be receiving $600 payments, according to the Oregon Department of Revenue.

To receive these payments, residents must have claimed the state’s Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC) on their 2020 personal income tax returns and lived in Oregon in the last six months of 2020.

Pennsylvania

In July, the state set up the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program — a $121.7 million fund to be paid out to people with disabilities, older homeowners and renters. Those eligible for the program should visit the myPath website or file a paper application before Dec. 31, 2022. Payments will come via direct deposit or check.

The maximum standard rebate is $650, but some homeowners can qualify for up to $925 in supplemental rebates, according to the state’s Department of Revenue.

Virginia

After legislation passed the General Assembly in July, individuals will receive a one-time check of $250 while joint filers will receive a one-time check of $500.
