I should have known foo fighters lyrics

I should have known,
That it would end this way,
I should have known,
There was no other way,
Didn't hear your warning,
Damn my heart gone deaf.

I should have known,
Look at the shape you're in,
I should have known,
But I dove right in,
One thing is for certain,
As I'm standing here,
I should have known.

Lay your hands in mine,
Heal me one last time,
Though I cannot forgive you yet,
No I cannot forgive you yet,
You leave my heart in debt,

I should have known,
I was inside of you,
I should have known,
There was that side of you,
Came without a warning,
Caught me on a web,

I should have known,
I've been here before,
I should have known,
Don't want it anymore,
One thing is for certain,
I'm still standing here,
I should have known.

Lay your hands in mine,
Feel me one last time,
Though I cannot forgive you yet,
No I cannot forgive you yet,
You leave my heart in debt
No I cannot forgive you yet
No I cannot forgive you yet
You leave my heart in debt
I should have known

Maybe you was right,
Didn't wanna fight,
I should have known,
Couldn't read the signs,
Couldn't see the light,
I should have known,
Though I cannot forgive you yet,
Though I cannot forgive you yet,
You leave my heart in debt,
No I could not forgive you yet,
No I could not forgive you yet,
You leave my heart in debt,
No I cannot forgive you yet,
No I cannot forgive you yet,
You leave us all in debt,
I should have known.

Foo Fighters

The Foo Fighters are an American rock band, formed in Seattle in 1994. It was founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as a one-man project following the death of Kurt Cobain and the resulting dissolution of his previous band. The group got its name from the UFOs and various aerial phenomena that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, which were known collectively as foo fighters. Prior to the release of Foo Fighters' 1995 debut album Foo Fighters, which featured Grohl as the only official member, Grohl recruited bassist Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith, both formerly of Sunny Day Real Estate, as well as fellow Nirvana touring bandmate Pat Smear as guitarist to complete the lineup. The band began with performances in Portland, Ore… more »

These meanings may be correct but there is a thread running through the song that no one seems to have gotten right . Think simple. Think GROUND level .

This song is about Kurt but really just about how nobody can really be saved in life. When those we care about leave, whether it be a breakup or a best friend's death, we feel responsible. This song is Dave trying to get over his past and how he blames himself for the bad things.

The first verse is about Kurt and Nirvana. The second is either about (which I think it is) the scare when Taylor overdosed and almost died or if not then let's just go with an ex-grilfriend or wife or something.

Not only Kurt, but also about he's best friend Jimmy who died of overdose and much other people that suffered for drug using. Much like the Word Forward song is too about Jimmy.

The most important line is "IVE BEEN HERE BEFORE!" its about a lot of things. Yes kurt is in there obviously but there are also references to Jimmy like dave said in the book this is a call but i also think that theres a part in there about a relationship with a girl because thats always how i have related to it. You know its gonna happen but your still shocked out of your mind when its over and you just have so much hate towards her. I have felt exactly like that and this song made me feel much better

everyone thinks its about only kurt. It is about kurt but dave admitted in the movie back and forth that its about all those times you look back and think god dammit i should have known

  11. As far as I`ll been reading your comments I`ll say your wrong.
I will also like to refer to the back and forth doc. There Dave says that "i should have known" is about every missery, through the way, with loosing a good friend, band members leaving, band members told to leave, Taylors overdose and etcetera. But in the end. He also thinks he stands in debt because of the fantastic band the became. But the sorrow is to big, so he could not forgive this "it" person yet. Kurt , who died is mentioed with a thought in this song but it isn`t all because of him.

All crap.....no one actually knows. It's possible that the song is about kurt and off course dave will deny that. We'll never know untill he tells himself. The only thing I know for sure, that it's a fucking great song!! the best on wasting light imo. Wasting light is actually the best record they ever made.

I believe it may have been about taylor? He said he was so annoyed at Taylor over his O/D and he also said its hard to get over it.

watch the back and forth documentary...it is actually about a past love...but he can understand why people would think it was about Kurt...on the recording of this track Dave got Krist Novoselic to record the bass.
watch this rock-umentary it is awesome...freakin great band
