How to upload long videos on instagram story

Instagram has rolled out a new feature globally that will allow users to upload longer uninterrupted Stories, the Meta-owned social network confirmed to TechCrunch on Friday.

Currently, there is a time limit and if users want to upload a Story that's under 60 seconds, they need to break it up into 15-second clips.

"Now, you'll be able to play and create Stories continuously for up to 60 seconds, instead of being automatically cut into 15 second clips," a Meta spokesperson told TechCrunch. "We are always working on ways to improve the Stories experience," the spokesperson added.

Moreover, Instagram users don't need to continually tap to get through a long video that they don't want to watch.

Now users can share both Stories and Reels easily, as they will have have two options when it comes to posting a 60-second video.

In June, Instagram added support for longer Reels of up to 90 seconds, up from the previous 60 second-limit. Meta-owned photo-sharing platform Instagram is also testing a new Stories layout that hides excessive posts.

Users can currently post 100 Stories at once. While this number should remain the same despite the change, users who have received the update must tap a "Show All" button to see the rest of the Stories, as reported by IANS.

Otherwise, Instagram jumps to the next person's Stories. This brings about a significant change in how Instagram Stories works.

Instagram recently began testing a major change to its Stories platform, which lets users post photos and short videos that stay live for 24 hours. The social network wants to increase the maximum length of videos on Stories to 60 seconds in another attempt to beat Snapchat and TikTok.

As noted by an Instagram user in Turkey, the social network’s app is now notifying a few users about the change. Currently, if you record or upload a video longer than 15 seconds, it will automatically be split into multiple different Stories.

However, with this new change, users will be able to post videos to Stories that are up to 60 seconds long without having to split them.

The company is also testing a revamped interface for posting Stories that will make it easier to mention other accounts or add a location to a post. It’s unclear when or if Instagram will make these changes available to all users around the world, as right now only a few users can post longer Stories.

As TikTok has become increasingly popular and Snapchat recently introduced a new standalone app for creators to edit their videos, it’s no surprise that Instagram is making its platform more attractive to those who like to share videos on the social network.
