If you've lost your New York birth certificate or just need another copy, you have lots of options! If you're applying for a New York City birth certificate, you can order it in person, online, by telephone, or by mail. To get a New York state birth certificate, apply online, by telephone, or by mail. You'll need to show a valid photo ID or 2 proofs of address before paying the processing fee. Once you've submitted your completed application, wait for it to be processed before you get the copy of the birth certificate.
