The Raleigh Times

Belgian beers, microbrews & American pub grub served in the namesake paper's historic former home.

Slide 1 of 6

The Raleigh Times at 14 E Hargett Street, famous for its Belgian beer micro brews and American pub grub, has been described by many as one of the best bars in North Carolina. Many residents frequent this bar for great tasting food and good beer served at this historic location which once housed the city's local paper , The Raliegh Times. With reasonably priced daily specials on offer, it’s no wonder it’s a favourite spot for many college students.

A classic Raleigh bar, the Raleigh Times is located in the old Raleigh Times newspaper building. You’ll find some of the walls are still wallpapered in the newspaper giving it plenty of character. If that’s not enough to tempt you, there’s also a rooftop patio and sidewalk tables available offering plenty of seating options.

The Raleigh Times Bar is a 100-year-old building that has been restored to house the amazing bar functioning today. Inside memorabilia of Raleigh’s past, old articles and images showcasing historical moments adorn walls. History isn’t the only item on the menu.

Great Pub style Bar and Restaurant. The Staff that work here are great as well. Food is very nice! I suggest trying the Mozzarella Cheese's Sticks and the Far East Ruben. It's located in a 100 year old building that was Originally the home of the News Paper the Raleigh Times. Highly recommend checking out this historical location when you are in Downtown Raleigh. Enjoy💖

Classy spot in downtown Raleigh with open seating, amazing food, and drinks. Relaxing ambiance. Beautiful exposed brick and art features. Incredibly spacious, and the high ceilings lend to this. Great choice for ladies night. I've dined here twice and will be back.

Rooftop terrace, outdoor curbside patio, several bars...feels 'hometown bar-y'...good selection of beers and cocktails and a great menu (those Peruvian wings are 👌🏾). Went in on mother's day, wasn't hectic, sat at a 4-top in the bar dining area and were served by Sarah. She was the most authentic, attentive, responsive person I've had the privilege to have been given service by, and everyone else seemed really friendly. Zero buyer's remorse here! I'll be back! Thank you Sarah! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fox Liquor Bar

Taproom serving cocktails plus meat & cheese boards in sophisticated, upscale environs.

Slide 1 of 5

One of the best cocktail bars in Raleigh, which also serves world-class snacks is the underground Fox Liquor Bar. It’s owned by famed Ashley Christensen who owns a number of amazing restaurants around Raleigh. In fact, she was awarded the James Beard Award for “Best Chef: Southeast” in 2014, the James Beard Award in the “Outstanding Chef” category in 2019, and Chef of the Year by Eater.com in 2017.

Proprietress and Chef Ashley Christensen aims to promote good food, philanthropy, and entertainment in downtown Raleigh. After working in the area for a while, she created Fox Liquor Bar. The bar serves comfort food made using French culinary techniques and locally grown, seasonal ingredients.

Excellent drinks! Its refreshing to go to a place that isn't just slinging drinks. These are artists, harnessing the full spectrum of the finest spirits to create and craft cocktails that you will love. There is something for everyone here. I loved that they take the time to teach you about the craft of creating a great cocktail.

Really cool atmosphere here. Like other alcohol-only bars in NC, there's a $1 membership cost to enter. When we came on a Saturday night it was busy but still not too loud. Kinda sultry with a low lit ambiance. The staff were very friendly and the drinks were interesting.

My girlfriend and I stopped in for an after dinner drink on a Saturday around 6:30pm. It wasn't yet crowded and we sat at a cozy booth. We were quickly greeted by a friendly and witty server who answered our questions and made suggestions. We ordered drinks and snacks, and the Jane Taylor drink (photo below) blew us away! One of the best cocktails we've ever tasted. We'll be back here for that drink and the sparkling service.

Basement cocktail bar with a vintage library vibe, complete with tufted couches & artisanal drinks.

Slide 1 of 4

Watts & Ward is arguably the best bar in Raleigh offering an expansive and luxurious underground bar styled with leather couches bringing the speakeasy vibe to the forefront. You’ll also find a large outdoor garden with a bar and heaters available. It all sits under atmospheric lighting with string lights covering the whole patio.

Really cool and surprisingly massive spot. They have excellent cocktails and the staff is really solid. The place is also huge and has an awesome vibe for spring-fall nights. GO HERE.

This place has jumped to the top of my list of favorite spots in downtown Raleigh. It has 3 bars inside and 1 outside. The drinks are amazing and the atmosphere is even better. For more recommendations follow @raleighunlocked on Instagram.

This place is exactly what it says it is. Amazing ambience. Great place to hang out with friends or a date. Drinks are worth every buck you pay and more. Loved it here !

The Green Light

affordable

Cocktail bar

Bar

Lounge

Hidden behind a bookcase door, this intimate speakeasy with a vintage vibe offers bespoke cocktails.

Slide 1 of 4

One of the better kept secrets and best bars in Raleigh is The Green Light. Hidden behind a bookcase in a local club, The Architect Bar & Social House, The Green Light sits in an old architect’s office and offers a vintage vibe. It definitely holds the title on the most hidden bar in Raleigh, but once you’re there, try their craft cocktails that are some of the best in town!

Now this is a speakeasy, not so easy to find the door but thanks to a little help it didn't take long to get in. One thing I like about these hidden gems, you they are not typically overcrowded and very personable. They also seem to hit the target on quality in every drink they serve. The Green Light is as comfortable as it gets, and the staff make sure of it. This is definitely a bar that will see us again. Cheers!

This was my second time at this “secret” speakeasy. I came back because my first visit several years ago was amazing…full of mystery and unique craft cocktails in an intimate discreet venue. This visit was underwhelming. I booked a reservation for 5 weeks in advance. (The allure of this establishment is that you can’t just walk in; because of the size and nature of the venue.) The reservation process was easy and my reservation was confirmed. Having been to the establishment previously I knew somewhat what to expect. We waited outside the venue waiting for the green light to illuminate. It never did. A couple walking by paused by us and looked bewildered. They said they were looking for “green light” and I told them they had found it and asked if they had a reservation and they said they didn’t. They proceeded to go in and didn’t come out. I was surprised. Our party decided to also proceed (although the green light wasn’t it, or any light for that matter). The couple who just “walked in” were sitting at the bar enjoying their cocktails. We were escorted to a small table off to the side. While its a small venue and an intimate setting our table was way to small to accommodate 5 people. It took quite awhile for the waiter to come to the table and even longer to get drinks. Unfortunately the drink menu had not changed. Granted, the cocktails here are good, but since a number of years had passed since my previous visit I was hoping some new concoctions would be available. The others in the party who were here for the first time weren’t overly impressed. We had a few rounds and moved on. This visit wasn’t special and lacked the elements that were attractive which I experienced previously.

I love this spot. It is small and you feel like you are tucked away and can enjoy a beautiful conversation vs most spots where the music is overwhelming. The drinks here are always great and the bartenders are always so kind. For more recommendations follow @raleighunlocked on Instagram.

Ambis 1 Nightclub

Happening, neon-lit Latin dance club with a lineup of DJs, plus cocktails & hookah.

Slide 1 of 6

Are you in Raleigh and searching for the perfect spot where you can enjoy good food and drinks?. You have to check out the Ambis 1 Nightclub which is strategically located at Atlantic Avenue, right at the heart of Raleigh town center. The club features a spacious dance floor, a restaurant serving delicious authentic food, live performance from local talents and a Dj playing hip-hop, RnB, Latino and even house music.

One night club which is a favourite with tourists and residents alike is the Ambis 1 at 4000 Atlantic Avenue. They specifically have a well stocked bar with a great bartender ready to deliver all your favourite cocktails. They have an amazing VIP area with wait staff to cater to your every request.

It’s the best night club around where you will have a blast because they have different genres of music. Different cultures under one roof. Ambis 1 Nightclub is located in Atlantic Ave.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My friend (who is a woman) was literally assaulted and slapped in the face by a guy as we were trying to leave bc my other friend was too messed and was kicked out. We were ALL Women. As we were walking away, a group of 3 young guys and their dad approached us. We told them to keep walking. We knew they were looking for a fight but they kept walking towards until a fight broke and that’s when my friend got assaulted. They said my other friend who is a woman “touched” their dad but that was not the case. We were literally just trying to leave because we knew that friend was too messed up. Cops did not do anything and told us if we did not leave we would be taken in. Horrible night and rude employees. Cops should de-escalate a situation but they didn’t not care for the facts or what was right. Ambis is a PITIFUL place to go. Caution when going because you will get mistreated and assaulted.

After years of being invited to this club I decided to make the trip from Fayetteville/Raeford on a Saturday night. Wish I could give it zero stars. The security is rude as h*ll!!! They apparently only take cash. They have two ATMs when you make it inside, they charge a $3.50 fee if you're out-of-network (my bank reimburses me). The parking lot is overly crowded and so is the building. There were so many people that you could feel everyone's body heat and breath on your skin. No room to dance. The bathrooms are disgusting, the whole facility is outdated. They stop selling drinks at 2am. The music is not good either, for some reason they play a lot of Honduran music... I was expecting a mixture of everything but that's what they played most of the night.

I'd give 0 stars if I could. Extremely RUDE. It was my birthday, me and my friends went out there to dance. It was 1am when we arrived on a Friday it was dead. My friends asked for common drinks which they didn't have. -COORS LIGHT BEER, GREEN TEA SHOTS... Music was so loud u could not talk to anyone and HEAR. We were there for 5 minutes and decided to leave, asked for a refund they refused. Aswell as talking trash about me in Spanish. I was respectful and treated with disrespect. Also once u pay to get in, they only accept CASH for drinks

Farotage Nation Lounge

Slide 1 of 5

If you love hip-hop music and you’re thinking of dancing the night away, you better visit Farotage Nation Lounge located right at the heart of Raleigh’s town center. Farotage is a luxurious Afro-Caribbean nightclub that’s famous for its outstanding music selection which includes reggae, African and mainly hip-hop hits. The bar boasts the best drink specials at an affordable price, a spacious dancing ground, and a friendly atmosphere.

A great Lounge that has a true International feel well worth the time to go and enjoy a good atmosphere with a great African & international feel. Farotage Nation Lounge is a nightclub located in Capital, Raleigh, United States. It’s a top luxurious Afro-Caribbean nightclub.

I took my hubby out this past weekend for his birthday. We live in VA so this was our first visit & I can honestly say that we truly enjoyed ourselves! It's a rare opportunity to go out & be among strangers & no one is being rude. It was all love as well as a great atmosphere! The owner was also very cordial & security was on point & friendly as well. Hope to visit again soon!

Went here last night for my birthday and it was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 music was bomb drinks were bomb vibe was on point and a nice crowd!!! Will definitely be back here but next time I’ll have on flat shoes 🤪 shoutout to the ladies behind the bar!!

The three stars are for the dj. The music was it. However, the building is too open for all these yungins to just be staring in one another’s face. You would think good music, alcohol, and friends equal unapologetic dancing. It wasn’t like that, seems like everyone was scared. Nonetheless, my patron margarita was strong and the food truck outside was bomb.com. I would go back again on a 25+ night or something.

Foundation For Ethics In Public

Slide 1 of 2

Apart from the above two amazing places, one great bar you should check out is The Foundation. Although it is a little expensive, the stellar experience they deliver is worth every penny. Apart from great parking and budget hotels just a stone's throw away, they make some of the best cocktails in North Carolina.

A small underground bar serving up craft cocktails and beer, the Foundation is hidden away on the main Fayetteville Street of Raleigh. There is very little signage so keep your eyes out for it. You’ll be greeted with a cozy atmosphere and bartenders who can really serve up a drink!

Brewery Bhavana

Brewery

Dim sum restaurant

Maker-inspired hub for craft beer, dim sum, books & flowers in a stylish space.

Slide 1 of 4

An award winning establishment, Brewery Bhavana is a one of a kind place offering a brewery, dim sum restaurant, bookstore, and flower shop all-in-one. Stop in to try one of their craft beers and admire its unique concept that helped land Brewery Bhavana on Bon Apetit’s 2017 Best New Restaurants of the Year, Forbe’s 10 Coolest Places to Eat in 2018, and Conde Nast Traveller’s 2019 15 Most Beautiful Breweries, Distilleries, and Wineries around the World lists. It does get crowded but the bar area is first come first serve, so step on up and try their unique beer varieties.

This place deserves its place in the Raleigh Food Hall of Fame. Delicious, sophisticated, and stylish. We ordered one of everything on the DinSum menu and they were all insanely good. But don’t forget, brewery is in the name! Their beer was EXCELLENT as well. A fantastically well rounded menu over all. Thank you Adam for the fantastic service! It was his second day on the floor but it felt like he was a manager. He was incredibly generous gifting us things as we celebrated graduation and Mother’s Day.

My children and I visited this restaurant on March 11 to celebrate my son‘s birthday. We made reservations earlier in the week. On our way to the restaurant, there was an accident that caused traffic to be backed up, so we called the restaurant to let them know that we would be a few minutes late. Our reservations were for 5:30 PM but because of the traffic issues, we did not arrive until 5:50 PM. They said that they could still accommodate us but we would need to be finished by 7:00 PM because they had another reservation at that time. I was taken aback by this comment but it was my son’s birthday, so I did not question it especially since we were already late for our reservation. The more I thought about it, the more I felt that comment was a bit interesting; I’ve eaten at many many different ratings of restaurant and was never given a timeframe to eat. So that means that even if we were on time at 5:30 PM for our reservation, we would only have 1.5 hours to have a three course meal?? 🤔🧐 In any event, we decided to make the best of the situation and have an enjoyable time anyway. This became easy to do because of our server, Kelly H. She was absolutely exceptional! She was professional, friendly, detail oriented, observant, and took care of our needs in a timely manner and with a beautiful smile. To help expedite everything, we placed our orders for all three courses upfront so that there would be no additional delays. The food was served in a timely manner. The presentation of the food was aesthetically beautiful. The flavors of each dish were superb. Everything was cooked perfectly with the right amount of moisture and great texture. We enjoyed every bit of it! I cannot say enough about how tasty, moist, flavorful, and presentable the whole fish dish was. That was my favorite! The quantity of food for all dishes was also sufficient and comparable to the price paid. Because we were conscious of the time allotment, and it was almost getting to that 7 PM mark, we packed the remaining of our food in a “to go” container to continue our birthday celebration at home. I still have questions about the time allotment of 1.5 hours for 3 people to eat a three course meal; however, the food was definitely worth it and our server made our experience wonderful although we did feel rushed. I would have given this restaurant a 5-star rating if it wasn’t for the time constraints that were placed on us which made us feel rushed and unable to take our time to enjoy the food and the ambience. As a direct result of the great food and our server treating us as valued customers and enhancing our experience at this restaurant, we will visit again.

This place is cool and pretty swanky. Nice ambiance for a date or a dinner with the girls. Although I didn’t provide pics of the inside of the restaurant, it’s great for photos if you like to post. Presentation of the food is always great. The food is awesome. You have to try scallion pancakes if you go, It’s a must! I usually order a lot of different dumplings. If you choose to do that, I highly recommend ordering no more than two at a time so the food stays hot. If you order too many, everything will get cold faster.

Boxcar Bar + Arcade

Lively industrial area hangout offering classic & modern arcade games, plus many TVs & beer choices.

Slide 1 of 5

Home to 50+ arcade games, 15+ pinball machines, 175+ console games, 24 draft beers, and a full bar, Boxcar Bar + Arcade is Raleigh’s only barcade. Head there for an interactive night out with friends, or alone!. You can spend your time in the bar playing games, or hang out on their patio.

This review would not be complete without including these two bars; Boxbar +Arcade and The Raleigh Times. Boxbar+Arcade at 330 W Davie Street, offers a great selection of classic and modern arcade games. They also offer a wide variety of beer choices and specials throughout the week.

Really a fun place. Always friendly staff and a chill mixed crowd of all ages. We don’t even drink but the non alcoholic drinks seem to flow in this place. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a person who has had too much at this place. We can have fun for an hour or two for $20

Great beer selection and I love the weekly specials! Lots of arcade games however I wish there were more classic games. Some of the games are priced a little high. Sticky floors but that's what you get with a college bar! They have a nice, quieter outside porch area too.

Awesome barcade! Lots of fun games for 1 to 4 players. A huge selection of beer and liquor. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. My only ask is for more games! After about an hour, I played almost everything. Otherwise, I have aways had a great time.

Chic stop for coffee drinks, desserts & specialty cocktails with seasonal ingredients.

Slide 1 of 3

Bittersweet is a must try if you love desserts, coffee, and specialty cocktails! I wanted to try everything on the menu honestly because everything sounded amazing. I had to try their Toasted Almond coffee cocktail because I love almond and it was amazing! Also tried their Espresso Martini and S’mores Sundae. The sundae had torched house-made marshmallow cream, Valrhona dark chocolate brownie, vanilla ice cream, and toasted graham. If you have a sweet tooth like me, this is the place to go!

Had a great experience at Bittersweet! Great menu selection of cocktails, desserts, and coffee. Everything on the menu was unique and sounded good so it was hard to choose! We ended up ordering the s’mores sundae and it was everything we thought it would be and more! It’s a great spot to go to after dinner or for a casual/nice late night spot.

If you have a “hankering” for something sweet, decadent and of wedding-reception quality, look for BITTERSWEET in downtown Raleigh! They have the most incredible tasting pies and quite a unique craft drink menu. The Bloody Mary was so delicious. The pie slices we tried were mouthwateringly unbelievably delicious too! Wow!

Dram and Draught of Raleigh is another membership bar, but it was established with a clear purpose and tries to live up to it. That is to be best neighborhood bar possible. Situated a bit out of the central bar districts, Dram and Draught offers over 300 whiskeys from around the world, hand-crafted cocktails, draught beer from North Carolina (and beyond), and wines.

Service was great and the drink selection could hardly be better. I had two specialty cocktails and both were well crafted. Walked here after dinner on Glenwood and would encourage it as a night cap.

The atmosphere here was so chill and they have an amazing selection of whiskey! I loved their Whiskey Sour. All of their cocktails are hand-crafted and they also have Draught beer and wines.

Love this spot. The vibe is perfect, the drinks are amazing. Visited here for a girls night and we could've spent the whole night here.

Had a great evening with pre dinner drinks here. Bartender was great and drinks are amazing. It was easy to miss the entrance as we walked right past it. It’s between two buildings and the door is to the back side of the open patio area. Will post pics later with updated review!

Great atmosphere! DJGrantOffical DJ’ed and is AMAZING!! And a cute white boy lol 😉. Good drinks. Medium size venue, good vibes, mixed crowd & a good time. It’s in the cut across from the Marriott side entrance. Not your average hole in the wall.

Awesome place for some good, creative cocktails. We had the Bad Guys Wear Black and Smoke Show. Both were delicious. They definitely did not skimp on the booze. They also have cute Christmas decorations up.

Raleigh Beer Garden

Rustic-chic bar offering 350+ beers on tap & modern comfort fare in a bi-level space with a patio.

Slide 1 of 4

Famous for holding the Guinness World Record for the most varieties of beer on tap, Raleigh Beer Garden features over 400 different beers!. This giant 8,500 square-foot bar not only offers a wide selection of beer, but they also offer a full bar, as well as a ton of seating options like a rooftop terrace and plenty of outdoor areas. Despite its large size, it does get crazy busy on Friday and Saturday night, so if you want to have a drink and chill, visit during the day on the weekend or during the week.

Bartender was very nice, knowledgeable, and energetic. Food was better than I honestly expected and loved all the local beer options. Will be a staple for our future visits. Best thing is the Dog Menu.

Atmosphere was great. They have a fantastic outdoor seating area. The food was good. I highly recommend their deep fried pretzal. We were there on a Monday night and the was a 15 min wait for a table. It also appeared that they only had one server... she was doing great but clearly had too much.

Best beer garden with chill vibes. Price was bit over but drinks were amazing. Their environment was great and provide enough space for everyone! Def coming back soon!

Ruby Deluxe is a gay bar located in Salisbury street, Raleigh, United States. A bar for bar lovers, located underground from whence so many of the things we hold dear emerge. Offering Raleigh’s widest variety of live music, drag shows, and dance parties.

Always 10/10 when we go here. Love the staff, the open atmosphere, everything!!! Raleigh’s only more lesbian-forward bar, gotta support it!!!

BEWARE WHEN PURCHASING TICKETS ONLINE! Their event postings on eventbrite DO NOT disclose that you need proof of vaccination for entry. They only state masks are required. You will not know about this policy unless you visit their website. If you happen to want a refund, you’re better off disputing with your bank because they won’t respond to refund requests. Very sneaky in my opinion.

Some nights here are really awesome! And some nights here are just plain awful. Always be prepared to have a back up plan in case you run into the latter. Don't take personal offense if the staff or clientele sometimes talk down to you, just channel your inner TaySway and shake it off. I don't agree with a lot of things management and ownership has said/done. They claim to be all inclusive and accepting of all LGBTQ+ people, but many people of the community don't feel comfortable here. Particularly people of the older trans community. And people who have put in decades of lgbtq+ activism in Raleigh to pave the path for a place like Ruby to exist, only to be dismissed and refused acknowledgement of that. That being said, the owner has created a space for many young individuals to flourish and become their true selves. A place that is the only place they can feel safe. And I'm happy the RD WW NR trifecta exists to make those individuals feel safe.

Staff were really friendly, drinks are amazing! They had cocktails by the pitcher if you have a group which made it really convenient! The outdoor seating is pretty cool if you want a chill environment upstairs. Overall we can’t wait to come back!

It was such a great place! It happened to be cold outside and as we were walking in somebody greeted us promptly and gave us some warm corn broth which is very tasty to warm us up. The drinks, food and service were amazing! We’ve always said it’s our favorite place to go of all the hundreds or possibly thousands of places we’ve ever eaten at, this is our number one place and we haven’t even been back but that’s just how special it was to us, we just went and were like hey this is our favorite place but we will be back soon! We are long overdue for some delicious food and tasty drinks 🍹🥃🍺🍸

My new favorite place. Great atmosphere, fabulous cocktails, and yummy food. The waitstaff was attentive, and tables were sanitized between customers. Compared with other bars and restaurants in town, the prices were reasonable. Definitely will be going back.

This place is incredible! The service was really good. Took only a minute to get seated at 10pm, and we ordered a cheese plate. The cheese was phenomenal: very fluffy and scrumptious. Definitely the highlight of our meal. My partner and I ordered lamb burgers and I got a side of potato salad. Lamb burgers were better than most and the potato salad was perfect. Just the right amount of mayo and vinegar! Fries were well made.

Johnny was AMAZING. So educational and helpful. We got the Fall From Grace flight (Larceny, Conviction, and Redemption), as well as their signature Old Fashioned. Started out with the Chefs Board and then ended with the Lamb Burger - with collard greens - and Firsthand Burger - with fries. WE CAN NOT WAIT TO COME BACK! So many bourbons to try. He even found me a rye I actually like. We were so pleased with service, atmosphere, and quality of food!

Wonderful dinner! Chicken schnitzel with pimento and cheesy grits - out of this world. Very crispy and juicy chicken! Started with the brussel sprouts and BBQ fries - wow!! Best sprouts ever! Great beer selection and wonderful views.

Our server was so fun and recommended us some great appetizers! Loved the Brussels sprouts and bbq fries so much, they were perfectly seasoned. I got one of the drinks virgin and it tasted great (it was the honeydew one), but I know their alcoholic cocktails were also really good according to my friends 💕 the view of the Raleigh skyline was gorgeous and the patio lighting makes a great night out spot!

I had an amazing burger, fries and beer that was only made More Amazing by the Awesomeness of the Scenery And Great Staff!! The Food Came To The Table Fast, Flavorful And Hot!!! In addition to providing the perfect atmosphere for partying, the club also offers both local brews and international drinks, all at an affordable price.

A good assortment of items. Different variety in comparison to other warehouses. However, their prices are mixed in comparison to other warehouses. It seems their junk food is cheaper than most other warehouses, but several other items are slightly more expensive in comparison. Produce items seems relatively the same in comparison.

Your regular neighborhood Sam's Club. I have to say that this Sam's is well stocked with everything they offer and more speciality items that I have seen from other Sam's. Their layout is really easy to navigate and all of their cash out lines were opened. They did only have 1 door checker when leaving the store with did create a small line. I like coming here. They gas station is always busy too. Food court was opened and everything was fresh.

It's ridiculous to pay for a membership but the lines are long. The associates at the gas station are rude and can't really assist you. In the store the lines are long with rude cashiers. Member Services will have 1 person working with at least 10 customers in line, meanwhile you'll see managers and other associates walking by but no one will help the line get shorter! This store is very disorganized!

Best Mothers Day I’m originally from Louisana so my husband took me to The Big Easy for Mother’s Day this year, and it was the best one so far. My toddlers crushes the alligator bites and my son with Autism loves the Gouda Grits ( he is really picky). It was a win because everyone found something on the menu they could eat, which is hard for our family. Also great service! Great atmosphere! And most importantly GREAT FOOD! We will be back

We went as a family tonight, kids ranging from 1 to 17! We are from Utah, my brother and his wife live here in NC. We found this place and had the best time tonight! The food was delicious! The shrimp and grits are the best I’ve had! Bananas Foster were to die for! Great beignets! Bonnie was the best waitress. She took such great care of us, friendly, and went above and beyond! Highly recommend this place!! Great southern food!

I absolutely Love this place. The Big Easy Brings taste & uniqueness to its food. ♥️♥️♥️♥️ This food is good for the soul 🥰Absolutely the best. If you love Mac N Cheese. Then you have to try The Big Easy Mac N Cheese 🧀. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S

Pub

Busy alehouse providing cocktails & American-Irish eats, plus a rooftop patio & regular live music.

Slide 1 of 4

The Hibernian Pub serves Irish and American beers and cuisine in a comfortable setting. The name Hibernian derives from the Latin word Hibernia, which means ‘cold, wet land’ as well as referring to ‘one who comes from Ireland’. The bar’s atmosphere is friendly and relaxing, customers will feel as though they were in an Irish social club or a Gaelic home kitchen.

Delicious spot! Stopped by for lunch on a sunny day and everything was amazing. Great staff, phenomenal food and enjoyed the view. For more recommendations follow @raleighunlocked on Instagram.

Price is nothing unreasonable for Glennwood. Nice rooftop views and patio area. Music was alt and alt-pop. Really good vibes. Food was better than your average pub quality. Drinks are strong. Overall a must visit if you're in the area.

Fish & chips! I was really really craving fish & chips and Hibernian was close by so we gave it a shot. We ended up getting 1 fish sandwich and 1 f&c and both were YUM. The haddock was fresh and fluffy, mild flavor and fried perfectly- and was literally hanging off the plate on both sides! Their kind of French fries are my favorite- the wide flat, super crispy outside, burn-the-roof-of-your-mouth hot and soft inside, with salt aaaaand pepper which is delish. They have good specials each night of the week, and service was complete and very fast (it wasn’t super busy, but still). Sorry for the dark photos but it’s product of the dimly lit pub vibe. Good spot to try for super casual lunch or dinner!

Cozy locale for seasonally inspired cocktails served in mellow digs with art hanging on brick walls.

Always cozy. Well taken care of, generous pours, good vibes. Nice community and tasty selection of drinks. I'm a big fan of the spiked hot cider in the cold months.

The place was filled to the limit and the bartenders we're being selective about who they would serve. 20 minutes at the bar and chatting with others and did not get served. Neat place, but if there is more the 15 people I would move on if you are looking for a place to drink.

Music was too load for such a small place. Drinks menu suggestions was small but the drinks were real good. We were able to get seats at the bar even though it was busy

Woody’s at City Market is a locally owned and operated sports bar with quality products, eclectic decor, sports coverage, and local entertainment. There’s an extensive choice of craft beers and a good selection of spirits. As guests spend time at the bar, the staff will be happy to inform them about the liquor selections and help them choose the right drink.

I'm officially in love! Weaver Street Market has everything that a health-conscious person needs to survive. The deli is my favorite and is now my favorite place for lunch and take-home dinners. Today i ordered the lemon herb chicken and roasted sweet potato bites. I'm on a low carb, high, protein diet, so the options here are everything to me. If you're in Raleigh and need a healthy and delicious bite to eat, this is the place to visit. You will not be disappointed. My wellness journey got easier thanks to this gem.

Weaver street is the best place to shop. The staff are phenomenal, they stock the best health goods, and their coffee bar is fantastic. I love coming here for a lunch break or a coffee pick up. Special shout-out to Shalla and Emily!! The two most friendly workers, they are always so helpful.

We called a few days before our wedding to get some sandwich platters. Tony was so great to work with and so nice! The sandwiches were delicious and the platters were perfect and festive.

LGBT club with a dance floor, video bar, game room, patio & performance theater.

Slide 1 of 4

Legends Nightclub is an LGBT club with a dance floor, and a bar. Legends has both inside and outside areas, both with bottle service. There is a dance floor when you first enter, an outdoor patio and a performance area past that.

it’s a good club but the music is pretty bad and i think it would be a much better experience if they played stuff other than poorly mixed house. you could barely hear any of the words and it was hard to dance to. idk how they manage to have such noisy music yet it still sounds like nothing. y’all should get a new DJ or allow people to request music on their phones or something, you would have much better reviews and more people would return. i do appreciate the different rooms and seating. they have a dance room, lounge room, game room. drinks are pretty expensive, each shot was like $4 or $5. kinda crazy for standard vodka/gin. but they can get away with it since there isn’t much nightlife around here. also they do close early sometimes. they’re supposed to close at 3AM, and on a Saturday night they closed at 2:20 AM instead. not sure why, but annoying when places don’t stick to their open/close times. That’s almost an hour early.

Literally just walked out after being inside for maybe 5 minutes. The dance floor is closed (possibly because of COVID) but there is no music. There is a tv on behind the bar playing some background noise. You can hear the toilet flush because there is a small amount of people inside and no music. There was Americas funniest videos playing behind the bar. I understand COVID but if they aren’t ready to open back up they shouldn’t . It’s a dance club so how is there no music?!? There already isn’t a dance floor. I will say it smells 10x better because of the dance floor being closed. Hopefully they can come back and have music with variety instead of the techno that they have been wearing out for the last year every night.

The music here is complete garbage and that’s what would really make the club a lot better experience. It’s so much new music out for all shapes sizes and creeds. But they continue to play outdated house music. This club is too nice to continue having trash music every night. Why are we still playing stuff from 2014 , it would benefit you all to have a dj rotation or an actual music request que.

It’s a sports bar, however, they have a lot more to offer than burger and sandwiches. They have a lot of great food on the menu. A lot of people come here for the delicious clam chowder, which is the chef’s speciality dish.

First things first, I’ve NEVER been to a establishment where every single item on the menu looked enjoyable. This was a hands down a great restaurant/bar. I ordered the Bacon Jam Burger with a side of creamed spinach, and we also enjoyed the Potato Spud and an order of the Baby Back Mac-N-Cheese. The service was phenomenal. We were greeted with a warm welcome. The bartender Chealsea was sweet and had great recommendations. Might I add, the prices for the quality of food were very reasonable. I will definitely be a returning customer. I’d give 10/10 stars if possible! Great establishment and great service, hands down.

We recently used My Way Raleigh for a resident Friendsgiving event at The Devon Four25 apartments and they were amazing! Cody, one of the managers was a huge help. He was very responsive and went above and beyond to make sure our event was great! They donated 3 HUGE platters of food which were a huge hit and had our residents talking about all of the great times they have spent at My Way just around the corner! We will defiantly be using them again in the future!

Great English pub with soccer decoration, great live music, nice service, and tasty food just in Raleigh downtown. Really good place to spend some time!

Great food and variety of beers on tap. Had TV’s tuned to various sports channels and karaoke with a live DJ that night. Patio area outside. Fish and chips ($13) was great, pieces were large and not overly battered and their chips are a unique cross between a potato wedge and a crisp, 20oz draft Boddington ($6) was fresh with a perfect head, chili bowl ($6) was very filling though it does contain green peppers if you’re not a fan. Would stop by again especially as they serve food until closing.

Nice vibes on match days. Went here for the league cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool. FYI: There are two entrances and can get pretty crowded on match days. So if you want a table to sit and grab a bite, be here AT LEAST 30 mins before kick off.

Since 1993, the bar has been serving great beers such as the Triangle Ice Cold Beer. The best part about the place is that every opening night there is something fun to do. Guests can participate in karaoke, poker, and billiard games.

I'm a regular at this bar for a reason. The staff is always amazing and go above and beyond their duties. I've befriended all the bartenders here and I've only been coming for a few months. The beer is cheap and cold, and the mixed drinks are the perfect kind of strong and made to order. I bring all of my friends here And they always end up coming back even without me. 10/10 would recommend:)

Went for the first time tonight and it is a no frills bar but, sometimes that’s all you need. Joe and Den Den were excellent bartenders and the vibe was very cool even when dealing with me and my energetic friends. I’d definitely return!

Love this place! The regulars are friendly and welcoming. The people who work there are also very friendly. I go there for karaoke nights. Lots of good singers. Extremely well run karaoke by David Price. I look forward to this every week!

Love this place! My family had a waitress named serai or Sarah or something and she was by and far the best waitress I've had in a LONG time. Super cheerful, and hilarious. We ordered a LOT of food and everything was just right (we have some picky eaters). Also our drinks were never empty.

This is a cool venue. We went there for Friday Night karaoke. It was amazing. It is by far the best karaoke and the Raleigh area that we have come across so far. The karaoke DJ has an app that you can download and you don't have to ride with paper and go up to the BJ to submit your song. You can see the screen and what your next. However, I noticed that the DJ did Skip around. He chose whoever he wanted first because there were times when names with jump around on the list. I ordered buffalo wings and they were pretty good for buffalo wings. The quesadilla was okay. I love the chicken and dumpling soup. It was very nice and the scallions added in a nice touch to them. The waitress Tyra was amazing. It was so sad that she had to end her shift but she was great. Overall I had a great time at this place and we will definitely be back in bring more friends.

LOVED this place and had the best server named Sara! My experience was made my the amazing service and the atmosphere. Sara was behind the bar making the best drinks and her fun personality added to a fantastic time! I would go back just just for the service!

First time at an Irish pub! They had live music and wonderful hospitality. Never have I’ve been to a bar and felt so welcomed! I ordered the chicken and waffles and my hubby got a chicken house salad. The food was so delicious. Picture do not do justice you have to go see for yourself!

Great selection of beers on tap (20 taps). The side salad was served in a chilled bowl. Very nice! I had the St Patrick for a dinner entree. It was absolutely delicious!! Perfect find on a Tuesday evening with Live Music too!

I'm going to miss this place when I move. It's definitely a hole in the wall for sure. When my partner and I first came to this pub we were both intimidated by the atmosphere, but we were soon welcomed by the friendly staff. Each year since its opening Lucky B’s has been dubbed ‘Raleigh’s Best All-Around Bar’, so visitors can be sure they’ll have a good time here.

This is one of my favorite bars on Glenwood. There's never a line to get in, no cover charge, and never have to wait to long for a drink. Fire pits are great when its a little chilly out and the inside has everything. There's beer pong, pool, dance floor, punching game and more.

The DJ (josh) on Saturday’s is the best. I’ve lived on glenwood for over a year and never came here but once he started playing me and my entire friend group have the best time here. Such a good time to come and dance and drink 🥂

This place used to be great, but now that it's under new management the beer pong tables are gone. It's like every other Glenwood south bar now & they're moving away from the dive bar feel :-(

This is one of the best places in Raleigh for live music. They support a wide variety of performers, and rarely fall into the trap of the "tribute" bands, which has been a cancer on the local scene for a long time. Great place to play, great place to watch music. Great staff, too!

Such a COOL place to hang out and catch some great bands. LOVE the decor and the endless music quotes. Great local venue!

Deep South is a cool pregame spot for RedHat shows as it seems to be the closest bar to the venue. We hit this place up before every show. The bartenders are great and there are always drink specials. It's sort of a dive but still a cool place to hang out and listen to live music.

Tjs is a really nice club, however the owner needs to recruit a better DJ. Pleasssse! Also, I think a VIP line would be great. Who wants to.stand in a long line, especially on first Fridays!!

I absolutely love the vibe. TJ's is one of the few places that the middle aged crowd can go to and enjoy themselves. My chief complaint would be the music. On a regular basis the DJ is not very good in my opinion. I realize that TJ's caters to a wide generation gap yet the music is mostly old school or at least they play old school for a long period of time. Times are changing and the 80's babies musical tastes are seemingly forgotten. There are lost 90's 2000's artists whose music is very appropriate for all crowds. We wanna hear some Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie (and not the same 2 songs he plays each week) and other music. We're tired of the same ole Mr. Cheeks "light's, camera, action. Please do something about the music. Other than that (which is a huge reason people come out to party), it's a safe and laid back environment for enjoyment.

Tj'sis is nice...great place for young and older...like that I can drink on dance floor and go out side and smoke without repaying...

There were a couple more celebrities partying comfortably with their entourages in VIP. The vibes were great all night & the staff was professional they ran a good event! Our new out of town spot to party!

The bouncers and the front desk guys are so rude. Why is their music always starting so late?! I went to go leave and my friend was walking me to my car and the front desk guy told me I could go out but not my friend. He couldn't walk me to my car. Told him they wouldnt let him back in. My friend said he wanted to make sure i got to my car safely. front desk person refused and said she will be alright.

I was highly disappointed. I brought tickets for Musiq Album Release Party to surprise my Husband with. Yhe event was supposed to start at 8pm (according to Eventbrite). Musiq did not come on until almost 1am. He only performed 3 songs (only 1 song was new). I felt Ego promoted a album release party but it really was just a special guest appearance. They need tips on proper events. Usually during an album release party, an artist perform with their own band, they usually sing most of their new songs, and the venue usually play the featured artist music throughout the night....smh as soon as Musiq waa done, the folks who came to see him left immediately. You can tell we all were disappointed to stay and dance until 3am.

One of the classiest establishments I’ve ever been in. The attention to detail is impeccable: the interior is spotless, the air is fresh, there is complimentary mouthwash in the restroom for pete’s sake! The dancers were lovely and not pushy at all, I had a stimulating conversation with one for nearly two hours. I’ll certainly be back.

Nice improvements in the club since Rick’s assumed ownership. More girls are coming in for day shift. Changed dress code makes everyone happier. And, management kept some of the good people from the staff of the men’s club. All that’s missing in daytime hours are customers. Recommend a variety of specials - buy one dance get second for half price - greater variety of drink deals - I’m sure you’ve tried them all at different clubs. With some specials and better promotions this will be five stars in no time. Till then I’ll remake n a regular here at my favorite club in Raleigh.

Fun and funky place. The night we were there one bartender was working very hard the other wasn't, so service was slow. And it wasn't even crowded.

We made a trip to Raleigh from Charlotte on 05/05/2022 and decided to visit this place for drinks. Ended up having a great time meeting new people, enjoying great drinks, and the simple games like the punching machine that they had (current high score was set by me and the bar is see at 893) there's plenty to do besides hitting things with your fis, like playing pool, or going into the "cage" and dancing in there or have your significant other release their inner gogo dancer and have some fun there 😂We definitely plan on making this our first place that we're visiting every time we visit Raleigh I'm the future and if you're a Raleigh native or just visiting for a night or two, I suggest that you do the same

To much going on I never got my food but they did give me a bill.....food was on the house....

Bartenders were rude. Workers are very sneaky. Charged us $20 at the door, then got to the bar and was told they were not accepting card, despite seeing them swipe several other people’s card. They were serving the people they wanted to serve, and did not acknowledge us (except to tell us they cannot take our card). Asked for a refund, for not being told at the door that they were not accepting card inside, man walks up and comes up with a quick lie saying it stopped working when we came inside. This business should not be operating. Will be reporting to BBB.

I would only recommend takeout at this time and please call an hour before pickup! With investment and people that wants to work. This place would be Awesome! 🙏🏾

Nice bar bar. Good place to hear local and touring artists. Wish it was closer to me.

Great bar with divey, rock'n roll atmosphere.

I had heard about this place and looked it up to see what they offered. They seem to have all of the makings of a good bar/pub, or just a good go to place at the end of a day. I do not go downtown too often, but I will look forward to checking this place out.
