I booked this spot for HHN with the family. You must be aware that there are MULTIPLE entrances, but only 1 where you're allowed to go through for check-in. This was especially difficult because even when I called in, the Front Desk people couldn't even give out directions. The address given through email is completely different from the actual Lobby entrance. There is a $21 car parking per day. Please note that when booking through a third party, the Resort will also charge you for a different resort fee. When they say complimentary breakfast, they mean only bread and coffee. Anything extra, like eggs, waffles, sausage, etc, that you would normally get at all other hotels for free, is $15 per person. This is how they trick you into paying extra money for breakfast food that isn't even good. The biscuits and gravy was cold. Eggs were cold and super watery. Food was just over-all cold. Not worth $15; save your money elsewhere. Dine in for Lunch was 50/50. There's only 2 restaurants there and 1 of them, (I think is spelled Lagun), while the other spot is a pizza spot. Had lunch at Lagun''s and 2 out of the 4 entres were terrible. The Pork Tacos was tremendously dry, and the burger was cooked well done. Most restaurants normally ask how you want your burger cooked, but not this one. The Steak Tacos was not bad, but I've had better tacos. The only appetizing meal were the chicken wings. It was juicy! We found a centipede in our bathroom and bed bugs in our room. When checking out, the Front Desk people don't even tell you, you need to keep at least 1 hotel card key in order to get out of the gated resort. If I didn't ask when checking out, I would be waiting inside the gate looking like an idiot. That's what happened to others....only lucky if a worker off her shift would have to run out of her car to scan people out. NO COMMUNIATION!!!! After your trip, please remember to check your credit card charges. They charged me twice for resort fees and parking. I had to call them and they made an excuse saying they do that on purpose and will have it reversed 5 business days later. I would not stay here again and I would not recommend any of my friends/family to this resort. Read less

Stayed at this hotel on short notice due to an unforeseen change in plans. The grounds were in a respectable condition and the rooms were decent- basically equipped but was adequate for what you need in Orlando. Whilst the pool area was ok and the location was good, the hidden expenses we encountered left a sour taste when leaving- resort fee's and expensive carparking charges were not advertised upon booking with expedia. We were told on check in that a mandatory charge of $15 per day would also be taken for breakfast, which we did not want. As we were being charged for this, we utilized the breakfast facilities but after 2 days, we felt that the food on offer was so poor we looked elsewhere. We later found out that this was not a mandatory charge and after questioning the hotel, we were offered a refund. Despite this and being sent an updated receipt, the Money was still taken with us having to chase a refund on numerous occasions. The hotel has so much potential however the miscommunication from staff in an attempt to create additional revenue, along with smaller details (such as a lack of regular housekeeping despite the resort fees) really do let the property down. Rude staff and misguided information/advertisement!

My partner and I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton (Sea World) for our first holiday together in Disney and Universal a few weeks ago...We pretty much wished we hadn't as it completely ruined out Florida experience. From what we had seen advertised on their website we thought that the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel would be the perfect stay especially since we saw advertisements on different booking websites that the hotel does provide free complimentary shuttle services to Disney's Magic Kingdom, Sea World, Aquatica, and Universal Studios which were all destinations we were going to visit. It actually contributed to our decision to stay there instead of a normal disney hotel....What lies these were!! There was no free shuttle service AT ALL! Turns out we would have to pay $11 each at this hotel for a shuttle go to universal and $15 each to go to the disney parks - Actually worked out cheaper for us to get our own ubers which dropped us right outside the parks which is what we ended up doing. Utter misguided information and when my partner tried to get a print off the schedule he was approached by a really aggressive and angry member of staff who refused to let him take any pictures of the schedule or have a copy of it - Update your websites if this does not apply anymore because it's utter fake advertisement! Not only that the staff were absolutely miserable at the hotel throughout apart from the one guy who greeted us at the front desk when we arrived and was an utter joy to us and very welcoming ...wish I could remember his name as he is the reason I am leaving two stars instead of one! But majority of them felt like dealing with spoilt teenagers who couldn't be bothered to help out where they can. One of the concierge guys joked he had a gun in his car and when we laughed he said 'No seriously I do. i use it on people who annoy me' , when my suitcase broke at the airport and I had to find another quickly we asked a girl at the front desk who just shrugged her shoulders and walked away when we asked where might be the best place to get one before our flight back, then when asking where might be the best place to buy fruit one of the front desk staff members actually laughed in my partners face and just said "Good Luck!" and walked away . The worst one was our experience at breakfast in the restaurant - don't get me wrong I know this is America and they eat differently to how us Brits eat but when my partner and I were told that the continental breakfast was included in our price at the hotel we thought it might've included more fruit, less cereals with LOADS of sugar in it and maybe some eggs - instead we were told the continental breakfast was everything "from the pizza to the waffles".... We originally thought this was a joke that the staff was saying this as these foods are not items you would usually find in a normal continental breakfast but yep it exists in this absolute joke of a buffet! We were then told that to have a cooked breakfast it would cost us individually $15 each every day to upgrade to have some eggs and bacon. One morning (as I had enough of sugary foods and have dietary requirements) I had some granola, yoghurt and 9 pieces of melon (all items usually used in a typical continental breakfast) , I was then approached by the most rudest, loud and aggressive member of staff I have ever dealt with in my life. Right when we were about to tuck into our food he interrupted and asked "You two staying with us the rest of the week?" to which we replied with "Yes" and then he said "You having the continental breakfast?" and we nodded. He then pointed at my bowl and shouted "You have stolen that fruit mam! Did no one tell you it's not part of the continental breakfast! (despite there not being any signs anywhere indicating it wasn't) and if you eat that then you will have to pay an extra $15 to upgrade your breakfast because your continental is everything from the pizza to the waffles! You have stolen that mam" -- He said this very loudly and aggressively like I was being told off by a teacher back in school and I felt utterly embarrassed in front of the other guests and my boyfriend. He then walked away and I left my breakfast completely untouched in fear that we would have to pay an extra $15 for 9 pieces of melon, granola and yogurt - my boyfriend and I were shocked by how I was spoken to and it was a complete waste of food and completely rude way of speaking to someone! Do your research Hilton and sort your breakfast choices out! If not then use signs saying what is included and what isn't because trust me waffles, pizza and lucky charms isn't what you would find in a usual European breakfast which is where the breakfast comes from! Also sort your staff members attitude out and have serious chats with them about how to talk to people with respect! It didn't stop there either - when we checked out to go to the airport my boyfriend had already prepaid everything but he wanted to just have a look at our receipt. We asked one of the girls at the front desk for it to which she said moodily "Why? Just dump your room key here in the box" to which my partner insisted on looking at his bill in case we were charged for something we shouldn't have - she then rolled her eyes, came back 5 minutes later, threw the sheet of paper at us without explaining what anything meant and then walked away. Turns out the Hilton charged my boyfriend TWICE plus they charged him an extra $100 - He's been trying to get all of his money back but it has taken them nearly 3 weeks to sort all of this out after even contacting the CEO of the Hilton - UTTTER JOKE! The rooms were okay but the outdoor corridors, pool side and Jacuzzi spa are completely outdated. Had other hotel guests hogging the Jacuzzi spa for more than the recommended 15 minutes so we couldn't enjoy that and the 'starbucks' in there is not a starbucks at all - serious lack of good tea opinions and coffee. Save your money people ! Go to a hotel who know how to treat their guests well and not cheat them out of every penny they have with misguided information. Read less

We were booked to stay here for the second half of our honeymoon as we were going to visit the Universal/Disney parks. It is, without exception, the worst hotel and service we have ever experienced - and as you can see from my other reviews, we are not all that hard to please. The lobby/reception area is lovely when you enter, so we were quite happy when we arrived. Then it all went drastically wrong. We were booked to stay in a tower room, which is what we had paid for through our travel agent. We had a copy of the confirmation email of this from the hotel themselves. They told us they had no tower rooms available and would put us in a villa room (I’ll get to this in a minute). They told us that we were wrong, then when I showed them our travel agents booking and their confirmation email, that we were still wrong. They then told us they could upgrade us to a tower room four days later, but it would cost more. I contacted our travel agents (next morning as it was 10pm) who were disgusted by what they had told us. I got the managers number off reception, from the manager herself, who then told me that the travel agent didn’t ring them, despite the fact he rang the number 11 times. Eventually I gave my phone to the manager with the travel agent on the line. In short, they were overbooked and tried to screw us over. We left after one night and booked the remainder of our stay in Orlando at the Dockside Universal. Not exactly what we wanted for our honeymoon but much better than our alternative. As for the ‘villa’ - it’s a cheap, dated motel room that is located well away from reception and accessible by anyone from the street. The room itself was clean, but there was a musty/mouldy smell everywhere. The safely lock on the door was broken, as was the phone to ring reception. We ended up stacking our bags against the door as a barrier in place of the broken hinge lock. Also, we decided to get food from the ‘takeaway’/fast food place. Twice they gave us the wrong order and even with my receipt stating what we got, they told me it was correct (seems receipts/confirmation don’t mean much here). I eventually got the food I ordered by chance as another person came back with the food I had ordered, and I had hers. The next morning, we checked out as soon as possible, with our travel agent forwarding us our refund and agreeing to pursue getting the refund from the hotel without stressing us out more. If I was to pick a single positive, it’s that there was one person at reception who was friendly, even if she wasn’t able to help us. Judging by the reviews, it’s obvious that this place has major issues, both in terms of the room quality and staffing (maybe covid affected), but for the moment, it is nothing more than a tourist-trap.
