The article below is meant for admins who use PBX Administration (classic) at https://my.jive.com/pbx. If you're an admin who uses GoTo Admin at https://admin.goto.com, please refer to: How do I use a dial by name directory in a dial plan?.

1. Sign in to PBX Administration (classic) at https://my.jive.com/pbx.
3. Select Dial Plans in the left navigation menu and then choose the dial plan you want to edit.

   Result: The dial plan editor will launch in a separate window.

4. Drag and drop the Directory node from the left navigation menu to the desired spot on the canvas.
5. Drag and drop
   
   of the previous node to the left side of the Directory node, connecting the nodes to prevent dropped calls.
6. In the Choose field, select the directory that will be used.
7. Continue to build the call flow.
8. Select Save.

HELP FILE

Use a star code to search from your phone for a contact within the default directory.

1. Dial *11 from your phone.
2. Using your keypad, enter the first three letters of your destination party’s first or last name. The system will then read the matching extensions. If no matches are found, it could be because a system admin has omitted the extension from the directory.
3. Press 1 to dial the extension or * to perform a new search.

   Note: Each letter is represented by a number on your phone’s keypad. You do not need to press a number more than once to spell the second, third, or fourth letters represented by that key.
