Clinique take the day off cleansing balm how to use

I’m sure you have seen these products popping up all over your favorite makeup and beauty stores. I finally decided to take the dive into trying out a cleansing balm because I was getting pretty fed up with makeup remover wipes! Makeup removing wipes I was using irritated my super sensitive skin and especially around my eyes. I noticed they also pulled out my lashes occasionally when I was wearing certain mascaras! Yikes! So I was looking for a little relief because I felt like makeup removing wipes wasn’t taking off my eye makeup all the way, leaving me irritated and annoyed! Finally, I’ve found a little relief for my skin, which is also low waste.

Now enter….cleansing balms!

A cleansing balm is beneficial not only for our skin, but for the planet too. Just think about how many makeup remover wipes I’ve thrown away over the years because they are only for one time use. Yuck.

With a cleansing balm, you can dissolve makeup easily, with no harsh rubbing or tugging on your skin, leaving it glowing and fresh! That is why I chose to pick up this Clinique ‘Take The Day Off’ cleansing balm.

WHAT IT IS:

A makeup removing balm with a silky soft, solid to oil formula.

“Lightweight makeup remover quickly dissolves tenacious eye and face makeups, sunscreens. Transforms from a solid balm into a silky oil upon application. Cleans thoroughly, rinses off completely. Gently helps remove the stress of pollution so skin looks younger, longer. Non-greasy. Non-drying.

For all skintypes.

100% fragrance-free; paraben-free; sulfate-free; phthalate-free; SLS-free; talc-free; silicone-free; mineral oil-free; gluten-free; alcohol-free

WHAT I THINK:

One of my favorite things is that this product is affordable, high-quality, and you get a lot in one tub (3.8 oz)! And you truly get what they are promising here. I’ve used this product about 5-6 times before reviewing it to make sure I really did like this product enough to review and recommend it. When I first tried this product I was super confused because I’ve never used a balm to take off my makeup with and I was especially skeptical to use this to remove eye makeup.

Putting my skepticism aside, I started gently rubbing this balm with my fingertips all over my face, my eyelids and lashes, as instructed. The product turned from a balm-like consistency (kinda feels like how coconut oil feels), to a soft oil consistency. You can see your makeup melt off and it’s so satisfying. I rubbed this all over my eyelids and lashes to remove my mascara (with my eyes shut) and it didn’t sting or burn my eyes at all! So gentle and nourishing. This is what totally sold me.

Keep in mind, I am super weird about my eyes because I have struggled with sensitive eyes, dry eyes, and have gotten clogged pores and styes from mascaras and makeup wipes in the past. Since using this cleansing balm, I haven’t had a stye or any left over mascara AT ALL while removing my eye makeup.

5 stars for Clinique!

This newly discovered ease of removing mascara because of this cleansing balm has completely changed my makeup routine! I used to skip out on mascara often because it was such a pain to remove at the end of the day with makeup wipes. I never seemed to get it all off before too! Which would leave my eyes feeling super uncomfortable the next day. Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm has allowed me to no longer fear wearing mascara anymore! Woohooo!

Is Clinique Take the Day Off Balm worth it?

Good at Removing Makeup?: Yes – this is good at melting away makeup and even waterproof eye makeup. It does not sting, itch or burn my eyes. It's definitely a nicer texture than The Drunk Elephant Cleansing Balm and is more effective.

A cleansing balm is the perfect first step as the oils infused into it actually help to pull oil from the skin and unblock the pores.
