Can two apple watches share the same phone number

  • #1

I have Iphone 12 Pro max and I am planning to buy Apple Watch Series 7. My wife is android user but she likes Apple Watch. We are thinking to get Apple Watch for her as well. Now question is can we use 2 Apple Watch with one Iphone. Is it worth it ? My wife does not like IPhone and probably will not move from Andriod phone. So if someone is using Apple Watch similar way can provide experience on this. Few questions which comes to my mind are
1. IPhone watch can connect to 2 watches
2. Did data from 2 watch sync to same profile or 2 watch can have 2 profile in the Iphone ?
3. Both watches can have different configuration

Up to 5 Apple Watches can pair with one iPhone, but you can only use one at a time. However, there is some sort of family sharing option where I think you can set up another watch with your phone for use by a family member...I'm just not quite sure how it works.

Yes, that's true. So if you are buying the aluminum model, it's $100 extra. If you're buying stainless steel or titanium, they all come with cellular.

But you need to think carefully about which features of the Apple Watch your wife is interested in, and whether a watch set up by the family setup process supports those features. Because no, you can't use one iPhone to manage watches for two separate people. It does let you pair multiple watches to a phone, but that's for people who want to switch among multiple watches.

If you do family sharing option, I think it is either the blood oxygen or ECG or both features will be disabled for the family member. I have my dad set up on my iPhone and he cannot access certain features. He has the cellular version btw.

My husband refuses to get a phone but wants the watch but not for phone functions or internet just for time, exercise movement/walking so he ordered an SE. Would I be able to install that on my 13 pro max, I already have the watch 7 SS and a series 5 I use for daily use. The Apple store told us that max limited for number of watches per phone was two but I knew I had read on on here 5.

You should do a family setup for your husband. An SE would work, but it needs to be a cellular model.

I am using two apple watches with one iPhone. The watch app is set to switch over automatically.
I used these two watches Series 3 and 4 with my iPhone SE on 13.7 and updated to 13 mini with 15 and updated both watches to 8.01.
I had a sleep schedule set up with a morning alarm and wore a watch to track sleeping and previously the alarm would only go off on the watch on my wrist. Since switching and updating the alarm will go off on both the watch I'm wearing and the watch charging on the stand.
Anyone know how to change settings so the alarm will only go off on the watch I'm wearing?

On your cell phone bill you will see your Apple Watch listed as a separate phone number (one that is unique to your Apple Watch). This number associated with your cellular Apple Watch has no purpose other than as a billing identifier.
