I dislike that it finishes so quickly because the tube is so small.

Okay, so here is the deal.

I've been using Mederma WRONG for months.

Last year I had a massive pimple or boil on my face. It was getting so big and annoying that I took a needle and literally poked it. So much blood and pus came out. Needless to say, it did a number on my skin. Over time I saw an indented deep scar. I've been using Mederma for months, I'd say its been 3 months and I didn't see ANY progress whatsoever. The sunken skin was still... sunken haha.

So here's what I did with Mederma that changed everything. I STOPPED rubbing the ointment on my skin. I stopped applying it like as if it was lotion. INSTEAD I just put the ointment on my skin straight up without rubbing it. So essentially, it's like a ball of ointment on my skin. That somehow started filling up the indents in my skin. I want to clarify and say that it's still in the process, but I noticed a huge difference when I started applying it this way.

I had a really bad injury. Scrapes in my elbows, knees and face were really deep. Applying mederma every night and waiting a minute or two for it to fully dry before going to bed really helped the heal and diminishing the appearance of the injury. I did try it on old scars and it did help making them less visible. I do recommend it.

I bought this cream to try to fade some wax burn marks on my upper lip and some scars I had from picking at acne. Normally, I have a very smooth face and not much acne. But when I do get acne, i tend to aggravate them more by picking at them and making them scab. I have had a few really bad wax burn marks that stained my upper lip area a shade of dark gray/black. Eww. Some of the acne scars were dark red. Fine for someone with darker skin but I am fair skinned and every little flaw on my face shows up that much worse! So embarrasing because as other girls who wax know, its the first thing people notice about your face.

After using this cream for just one day, applying in the morning and at night, I saw dramatic results. I posted pictures up to help anyone who wants to see results in terms of improvement.

The second picture is after using it for 3 days twice a day. The scar on my upper lip (left corner of the face) was basically entirely healed.
It works. The ingredients are not anything strange or peculiar. The scent, (as it does have a scent. Certain people were saying it is unscented) is almost akin to aloe vera although I am not sure if there is any of it in the cream.

After applying it, I noticed the scent but it is very very light. The cream is more translucent and kind of watery. It goes on smooth and does not leak or spill. After a minute or two, the gel seems to harden a bit and the layer of cream will peel off. I peeled off the gel and added some more before bed. It didnt 100% remove the discoloration from the burns/marks but for just 3 days it removed about 3 months of damage. I plan to use it more to try to completely return the damaged area to my original color.

The efficacy of this cream seems to work consistently over time especially on older scars. But for newer scars, it seems the first couple days of applying it will do the most in terms of dramatic improvement. Afterwards, the cream works. But slows down in terms of improvement compared to the first couple uses.
Nonetheless it works and I am proof.

I bought this product because I used it in the past to diminish a keloid scar from an eyebrow piercing. It worked well many years ago, so I decided to try it again for a few keloid scars on my stomach from surgery last year. I've been using it for a few months and it has shrunk my scars down a little so far.

I had an accident on my arm while ironing a shirt. The scar was scary and 3" long. I bought Mederma right after I got the wound. I waited until my wound dried and used it right away. It's recommended to use once a day and I used as directed. The product comes in a small size but I didn't need to use a lot. The consistency of the product is gel. It's no odor and clear color. It's not sticky at all.

I have been using it on this scar for 3-4 months. It's the only product I use. I'm happy with the result. The wound changed from ugly and scary to acceptable. The color of the scar is much lighter but still visible. On the less severe sides of the scar are no longer visible. From 3" highly visible scar, it has become about 2" pale scar. Also, my scar is totally smooth. I can't feel any bump or uneven skin on the scar.

Overall, it's not a magic gel to clear all the scar but it does work. It takes time to lighten a scar. If the scar is not deep or severe, it can be disappear with this gel. In my case, it's pretty bad scar but it still help a lot.

Pictures are the result of using it.

Pros:
-It works! 1/3 of my scar is barely visible. The visible part is much lighter.
-Help tremendously keeping the skin/scar smooth. I can't feel it at all. Keep in mind that you need to use it as soon as the wound dries.
-Feel good on skin.

Cons:
-Expensive. It takes time to heal a scar. Therefore, I need to keep buying.
