Aeramax Personal: Units should be placed as close to the source of the contaminant as possible, where contaminated air can be drawn directly into the filtering system. Acceptable places to put you air purifier include, next to a desk, in the corner of a room, etc. The best places have 1-2 feet of free space around the product to allow for air circulation. It is NOT recommended to put your air purifier close to direct heat, a vent or a smell source (such as next to an air conditioner, a fireplace, a fan, etc.) The direct proximity of those could have an influence on the correct functioning of your unit’s AeraSmart™ Sensor.

Aeramax Pro: Units should be installed as close to the source of the contaminant as possible, where contaminated air can be drawn directly into the filtering system. Also, by placing the unit higher on the wall, close to the ceiling (always allow a minimum of 8” space from ceiling and top of unit) the unit’s powerful exhaust can circulate purified air throughout the room. Best place in room for air purifier

When buying an air purifier, there are many factors you need to consider. Capacity, filter type and features are all important to think about as you go through the purchasing process. One factor that often gets overlooked, though, is where to put your air purifier once you have it. So, where is the best place to put an air purifier in a room once you’ve decided on the perfect model? Keep reading for some of our top tip on air purifier placement!

Position the Air Purifier Close to the Source of Contaminants

If you’re using the air purifier to eliminate a single-source type of contaminant, the best place for it is near that source. Let’s say, for instance, that you were using an air purifier to control odors from a cat’s litter box. Ideally, you would want to get the air purifier as close to the litter box as possible, within reason. This is because contaminants that have a single source are easiest to capture close by. If you let the contaminants spread out, it will be harder to capture them.

If Possible, Elevate It

Air purifiers work best when positioned 3-5 feet off the ground. At this height, they can take advantage of air flows in the space. If you have a suitable table, placing your air purifier on top of it will help you maximize its effectiveness. You can also look into wall-mounted air purifiers, which naturally sit up off the ground and will be able to take advantage of higher positions without taking up space.

Stay Away From Corners and Obstructions

Because they work by forcing air through a filter medium, anything that impedes air flow should be avoided when positioning your air purifier. Ideally, you should keep it out of corners and clear of large pieces of furniture that could block the free flow of air. The fewer obstructions around your air purifier, the better your results will be from using it.

Taking all of this into account, we can draw up some general guidelines for ideal air purifier placement. The best scenario is to be able to place your air purifier on top of a table or other surface near the center of the room, away from corners and obstructions. If that isn’t possible, getting it into a relatively open part of the room should do the trick. Remember to keep the air purifier close to the source of contaminants, if you’re dealing with a source-specific problem.

Whatever air purifier you buy, putting some thought into placement will help it work as well as possible. Luckily, most air purifiers are fairly easy to move around. Don’t be afraid to play around with placements until you find something that works well for you. If you want to be more scientific in monitoring your air purifier’s performance, don’t forget to pick up an indoor air quality meter so you can see how different placements affect the air quality.

Where is the best place to put an air purifier in a room?

The best place to put an air purifier is somewhere in your breathing zone. The closer the unit is to your head, the shorter distance clean air has to travel before it reaches you. In the bedroom, this usually translates to putting the air purifier on a nightstand or small table close to the bed.

Does air purifier have to be in middle of room?

Give your air purifier adequate ventilation Given that ventilation is so important, you would think that placing your purifier right in the middle of your room would be best. However, this is not the case. Placing your purifier towards one side of the room is ideal due to the way particles diffuse in an area.

Does it matter where you position an air purifier?

Air purifiers draw air in from the front, meaning they can be placed near a wall or in a corner. The air purifiers require at least 20 to 30 cm space around the sides and the back. Place the devices away from open doors and windows.

Should you close the door on a room with an air purifier?

The air purifier is going to clean the area it is immediately contained to, regardless. If you do not want further contaminants from an outside source entering the room while cleaning it with an air purifier, close both windows and doors for maximum effectiveness.
