From the edge of Lake Mead on Boulder Beach, you'll head uphill until joining the paved River Mountain Loop Trail, which will afford you some spectacular views. 10k and 5k runners will continue until their respective turning points and complete their out-and-back courses. Longer distance runners will continue on rolling paths, with a 1 mile climb followed by 1 mile back down again. There is then a 3.3 mile Loop Trail, which leads you back past Boulder Beach. Then you have another 1.5 mile climb, before going downhill for 1.75 miles and switching back towards the half marathon finish at Boulder's Beach. Marathon runners complete 2 laps of this course. The Marathon cutoff is 6 hours. This is due to many factors including road permits, police, the state park etc. If you cannot run under 5:45, please consider signing up for the Half. Is 5 months too long to train for a half marathon?Anyone can carve out 6 hours! 20 weeks means = a 5 month half marathon training plan, which gives true beginners more time to build their endurance base. This means you gradually work your way up little by little, and leads to less chance of quitting out of frustration that you “can't do it.”
Is 8 months enough time to train for a half marathon?How long you'll need to train for a half-marathon (13.1-miles, or 21.1-kilometers) depends on your experience and fitness level. But you should plan to train for six to 14 weeks. It's important to train adequately for a half-marathon, especially if you haven't done one before.
Is 6 months enough time to train for a half marathon?6 months gives you adequate time to lay the ground work, get your fitness levels up, build strength in your muscles and connective tissue, and put the finishing touches in place – like speed and pace.
