What Will Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 Cover from the Manga?

Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 is expected to continue where Part 2 left off, with Eren’s Rumbling laying siege to Marley and what’s left of the resistance putting together a plan to defeat him.

A big part of the series’ finale is known as The Battle of Heaven and Earth.

This major event sees the remaining military resistance and our heroes from the end of Season 4 Part 2 converge on Fort Salta, a giant airship fortification that is known by Eren as a potential threat to his plans.

Without providing any spoilers, the events of The Battle of Heaven and Earth are as enormous as they sound. It’s a big and loud event befitting Attack on Titan’s conclusion.

Will Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 be a Movie?

It was rumoured for a long time that there will be a movie to end Attack on Titan. Given the announcement of a Season 4 Part 3, it’s unlikely we’ll see a movie conclusion.

Attack on Titan’s conclusion will be aired in Japan on NHK. Therefore, it’s likely that Part 3 will follow a similar episodic nature to previous seasons.

There is a chance that the events at the end of Part 3 could be turned into a movie for theatrical release. However, this would only happen after the finale has aired on TV, so wouldn’t be the true cinematic ending some fans were hoping to see.

Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 Release Date

Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3, the conclusion, will air on NHK in early 2023.

It has not been confirmed when in 2023 the final part of Attack on Titan will air. However, we can make an educated prediction based on past releases.

The majority of Attack on Titan seasons previously came out in the Winter (from January) and Spring (from April) seasons, so it’s fair to assume a similar pattern will follow here.

Winter is commonly when the major anime blockbusters are released, but it's not guaranteed.

There is an Attack on Titan Season 4 event planned for November 2022, which will feature appearances from many of the series' voice actors. More news is expected to be revealed at the event or around the same time.

Regardless, we can be fairly confident in expecting Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 to premiere either in January or April 2023. We’ll update this when we hear more.

Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 COUNTDOWN

When we have more information regarding a release date for the final part of Attack on Titan, we will provide a countdown here, so stay tuned!

How Many Episodes Will Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 Have?

One of the biggest questions surrounding Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 is the number of episodes. Currently, we assume Part 3 will be somewhere around the 12-episode mark.

While nothing has been confirmed, some fans are predicting a smaller season than normal due to the lack of source material left to adapt.

There are only around 9 chapters of the Attack on Titan manga to be adapted, across the final two volumes.

Stretching 9 chapters into a 12-episode series could be a bit much, so there's speculation that Part 3 may have 11 or even 10 episodes.

However, there is also the potential that the ending could be altered or extended for the anime.

Mangaka Hajime Isayama has been working closely with MAPPA during the series' production, and it was widely reported that he wasn't satisfied with his story's ending in the manga.

So, Isayama could work with the anime to add some more details, which would help push the series towards the standard 12-episode mark.

There were also some rumours that Part 3 may take the form of TV specials lasting one-hour long. However, these are unsubstantiated.

Of course, nothing has been confirmed yet, and nothing likely will until just before the season airs.
