I would like to think it would come from late 80s/early 90s rap. The saying sounds pre-gangsta rap, maybe even pre-hip-hop music period. (Like the line "your bitch chose me" is from the 1976 movie Supa Fly.) The way it is said doesn't sound like it's from early 90s though. "It ain't trickin' if you got it" sounds like it might actually be early 2000s just because that's when rap began to blow up, and became financially viable for record companies and the artists they represent (well late 90s, once hip-pop started to be pushed into the forefront of American music consciousness). Show It'd be interesting if we could trace the origin of it. All I've got right now, though I know I've heard it countless times. 1996 Kool G Rap - "I Ain't Trickin" This song is interesting because it presents us with the acknowledgement in hip-hop music that tricking is a term that can be used. But not once in the song does he utter lines that are close to the phrase we know now. He's not tricking not because he's got it, he's not tricking because he doesn't have it. 2002 Lil Wayne - "Way of Life" Hit the mall with my girlfriends, dish out ends/'Cause you know it ain't trickin' if you got it// 2007 Lil Wayne - "A Milli" It ain't trickin' if you got it/but you like a bitch with not ass, you ain't got shit// Lil Wayne - "Got Money" (feat. T-Pain) Bitch ain't shit but a ho and a trick/But you know it ain't trickin' if you got it// 2008 T-Pain - "Can't Believe It" (feat. Lil Wayne) Girl it ain't nothin' to the Pain/ain't trickin' if you got it T.I. - "Whatever You Like" Hundred karat deposit to vacations in the tropics/'Cause everybody know it ain't trickin' if you got it// Spending a lot of your money on a woman is bad if you don't have that much money to begin with, but if you "got it" meaning you got that kind of money, then it's not "trickin". trickin is spending lots of your money on a woman that you don't really have. It's not trickin if you got a lot of money so it's not that big of an amount out your wallet. Lil' Wayne: it aint trickin if you got it T.I.:Hundred deposit, vacations hit

It's only tricking if you don't have her yet and you're using the gifts to try and establish a relationship. Now that I have money, I decided to spend a couple thousand dollars on my girl who's been with me since we were broke together and going halves on a shake at McDonalds, cause hey... it aint trickin if you got it. by dragonzI January 5, 2010 Flag Get the it aint trickin if you got it mug. it aint trickin if you got itWhen you are in the line of
