My wife rolled down the window because of heavy frost, and it never came back up. I was not too sure about ordering parts on line, but the experience turned out prety good. The part arrived a couple of days after placing the order. The part fit perfectly, and works great! Very quiet and smooth. The only problem I had was with the bolts used to install the original part. Two of the bolts were stripped when the window was installed at the factory, so I had to make a quick run to the hardware store to get some replacements (6 x 1.0 mm if you need them, look for license plate bolts, they work fine ). The part went on very easily, the only tools needed where a phillips screwdriver, 10mm socket, 10mm wrench (one of the bolts is hard to get the socket on) and something flat to pry loose the door panel. Oh, don't forget to use some tape to hold the window in place while you change out the motor. Not counting the trip to the hardware store, it takes about 30-45 to change out if your take your time. Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2018 Had 2 original window regulators go bad on my Galant. I bought both new ones from Dorman and both work great. The item was exactly what I ordered and arrived quickly. It was easy to figure out that the regulator would fit my Galant. Easy to install. Go on YouTube, there are lots of videos for all kinds of cars. The only trick is you need to rig up a dowel or something to hold the glass up in place while you remove the old regulator and fit the new one in if you don't have an assistant. I rigged up a 1x2 wood stick with a little notch in its end (in which the edge of the glass fit) on the first one I did which I was able to use again on the second one and propped it inside the door. Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2016 Bought it for my Galant 2009, whose' rear window went down all of sudden on a trip. Really a bad situation you want to be in. Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2020 Part arrived on time possibly early. Was the correct fit for the car, went right in with no problems. Would recommend to others. Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2020 Shipped quicker than expected and works with no problems Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2016 It worked like it should, one of the attaching pre-drilled holes on the vertical window mounting bracket Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2014 Exact fit replacement, no modifications needed. The cable that moves the window up and down had gotten bent somewhere in between the regulator and the plate that holds it in place in the old window regulator, so it would no longer unwind properly and would get jammed. Therefore the reason a new one was bought. FYI: Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2019 Really easy to install. One thing I'd say to finish the job: Get some heavy duty Silicone spray (CRC or similar) and spray the window grooves to take some stress off of the motor/regulator. |
