How do I transfer money between my Discovery Bank accounts?

To transfer money between your Discovery Bank accounts, you must:

  1. Log in to the banking app.
  2. Tap Transact on the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select Transfer.
  4. Select From and To accounts, and fill in an Amount and Reference.
  5. Tap Next and confirm the details to complete the payment.
How do I change my transfer limits?

To change the daily or monthly transfer limits between your Discovery Bank accounts, you must:

  1. Log in to the banking app.
  2. Tap More on the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select Channel limits.
  4. Update daily and monthly limits under the Transfer limits section.
  5. Tap Save to complete the limit change.
How do I set up a scheduled transfer between my accounts?

To schedule a transfer of money between your Discovery Bank accounts, you must:

  1. Log in to the banking app.
  2. Tap Transact on the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select Transfer.
  4. Select From and To accounts, and fill in an Amount and Reference.
  5. Tap the arrow under Schedule.
  6. Select the schedule start date and end date, and payment interval and then tap Confirm.
  7. Tap Next and confirm the details to schedule the transfer.
How do I edit a scheduled transfer?

To edit a scheduled transfer, you must:

  1. Log in to the banking app.
  2. Tap Transact on the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select Transfer.
  4. Tap
    on the top-right corner and select Scheduled transfers.
  5. Choose the scheduled transfer you want to edit.
  6. Select the
     icon on the top of the screen.
  7. Update the details and tap Next.
  8. Select Schedule transfer to complete the update.
How do I delete a scheduled transfer?

To delete a scheduled transfer, you must:

  1. Log in to the banking app.
  2. Tap Transact on the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select Transfer.
  4. Tap
    on the top-right corner and select Scheduled transfers.
  5. Choose the scheduled transfer you want to delete.
  6. Select the
     icon on the top of the screen.
  7. Select Confirm to complete the request.

Where can I withdraw cash using my Discovery Bank card?

You can withdraw cash by:

  • Using any Visa-branded ATM
  • Visiting one of our participating retailers:
    • Pick n Pay
    • Checkers
    • Shoprite
    • Select Spar stores
How do I withdraw cash at a local retailer?

To withdraw cash from the point of sale at a local retailer (Pick n Pay, Checkers and Shoprite outlets, and selected Spar stores) go to any till and tell the cashier you want to withdraw cash from your Discovery Bank account. Tell the cashier how much you wish to withdraw, and when asked to do so, simply insert your card into the pay point machine and enter your PIN. The cashier will give you the cash, along with a transaction slip.

Note: If you are also purchasing goods, simply tell the cashier you want to withdraw cash before making payment.

Is there a limit to how much cash I can withdraw at a retailer?

The withdrawal limits may differ from one merchant to another. You can also set daily and monthly in-store personal withdrawal limits for each of your cards using the Discovery Bank app.

Which of my Discovery Bank cards can I use to withdraw cash from a retailer?

When withdrawing cash from a local retailer (Pick n Pay, Checkers and Shoprite outlets, and selected Spar stores), you can only withdraw from a transaction account with a Discovery Bank debit card, and from a credit card account with a Discovery Bank credit card.

To withdraw from your transaction account using a Discovery Bank credit card, please visit a VISA-accepting ATM and select the current/cheque account option.

What does it cost to withdraw cash at a local retailer?

Each cash withdrawal transaction made at a point of sale at a local retailer (Pick n Pay, Checkers and Shoprite outlets, and selected Spar stores) is charged a set fee of R2 on pay-as-you-transact fee plans, and free on bundled fee plans.

Where can I deposit cash into my Discovery Bank account?

You can deposit cash into your Discovery Bank account at:

  • Pick n Pay
  • Boxer stores
How do I deposit cash at Pick n Pay and Boxer stores?

To deposit cash at Pick n Pay and Boxer stores, go to any till and tell the cashier you want to deposit cash into your Discovery Bank account. Make sure to tell the teller that this is a deposit and not a payment.

When asked to do so, simply insert your card into the pay point machine, enter your PIN, and hand over the cash you would like to deposit. The cashier will give you a slip showing the transaction.

Please note: when depositing cash at a local retailer, you can only deposit cash into a transaction account with a Discovery Bank debit card, and deposit cash into a credit card account with a Discovery Bank credit card.

Do I need a payment code or account number to deposit cash at Pick n Pay or Boxer stores?

No, you don't need a payment code or account number to deposit cash into your Discovery Bank account at a Pick n Pay or Boxer till point. All you need is your Discovery Bank card, your PIN, and the cash you would like to deposit. If you are asked for a payment code, check that the cashier is clear that it's a cash deposit and not a payment transaction (for which you would need a payment code).

What does it cost to deposit cash at Pick n Pay and Boxer stores?

Each deposit made at a till is charged a set fee of R19.95 by the Pick n Pay or Boxer store. Deposits are limited to R5 000 per transaction.

How do I withdraw money from my Notice Savings Account?

To withdraw money from a Notice Savings Account, you must:

  1. Log in to the banking app.
  2. Tap Accounts on the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select the Notice Savings Account you want to withdraw from.
  4. Tap
    on the top-right corner and select Give Notice.
  5. Select the account you want the money to be paid into.
  6. Complete the Amount and Reference details, and tap Next.
  7. Select Give Notice to complete the request.
