When does the new all american come out

All American Season 4 was released early this year. Those who have finished streaming the series are curious to know when Season 5 will be released. That's because they want to get answers after the cliffhanger ending from the last season.

The good news is that The CW already renewed the show for a fifth season. This means that new episodes could only be a few months away. But since Netflix has an agreement with The CW, it means that Netflix subscribers will have to wait a week until the final episode airs. So the big question now is: when is All American Season 5 getting released on The CW?

All American Season 5 Release Date

All American Season 5 is slated to return to The CW this fall. To be more specific, the fifth season will premiere on Monday, October 10, 2022 at 8 pm ET; which follows the previous seasons that were also released in October. Succeeding episodes will be released every Monday, which means the fifth season will run until May 2023. Eight days after the last episode, the entire season will be available to stream on Netflix.

On The CW, the schedule of All American is followed by the spinoff series, All American: Homecoming Season 2. This show is also slated for a release on the same day as All American Season 5.

All American Season 5 Story

All American is a sports series based on Spencer Paysinger's life. The retired NFL star serves as a consulting producer on the show too. There has not yet been any plot description released by The CW. But judging from the cliffhanger we saw on the previous season, we can already tell that it will focus more on Spencer James (played by Daniel Ezra)'s personal life.

All American Season 4 ended with a possible breakup between Spencer and Olivia (played by Samantha Logan) since Spencer discovered his girlfriend was writing an expose on his GAU football coach. In an interview with TVLine, Ezra revealed that his character will try to get Olivia back. "In that moment, he wants to fight for his relationship. I think it's the most important thing to him. [Having] her now, suddenly, in direct conflict with his football dreams… I don’t think he ever entertained any scenario where the two of them would be on actual opposing sides.”

And props off to Coop (played by Bre-Z) for deciding to pursue her criminal justice career instead of dating Patience (played by Chelsea Tavares) or Skye (played by Madison Shamoun). Meanwhile, Grace (played by Karimah Westbrook) got engaged to Principal Carter (played by Lamon Archey). Another interesting pairing to look out for in All American Season 5 is the brewing romance between Jordan (played by Michael Evans Behling) and Layla (played by Greta Onieogou).

Where to Watch All American Season 5 Trailer

The CW hasn't released a trailer for All American Season 5 yet. But with its release date nearing, we'll likely see a teaser soon.

In the past seasons, The CW released a trailer a month before the show's release. This means that we'll likely see a trailer in September.

While we wait for The CW to release the trailer for the fifth season, let's look back at the trailer for the fourth season:

All American season 4 spoilers follow.

All American season four is approaching its finale, which is just as well considering the amount of drama we're currently having to process.

Inspired by the real life of professional American football player Spencer Paysinger, All American follows Compton high-school kid Spencer James, who's recruited to play football for Beverly High in Beverly Hills.

The CW's teen sports drama has proven to be so successful that a spin-off, All American: Homecoming is on its way as well.

But what exactly is going on with the main show, and when can we expect to see the series back on our screens? Here's everything that you need to know about the upcoming episodes.

"One of the main reasons I even took the role was because I had never even thought about playing a coach, even though I've loved watching these sports movies and I've watched so many of them with my son," Diggs said (via PopCulture).

"It just seemed like the universe was kind of setting me up because, with my son being as athletic as he is, it just added a cherry on top when we were able to watch a program like this, the subject matter. And then for him also to see me in that role, it just adds to our relationship because, as people can imagine, it's hard to stay cool when you've got cool kids. So that definitely has been helping me out."

And Diggs has a pretty solid theory about why the show’s been so successful.

"I think it's just where we are today as a culture, where we are today creatively. I think the pandemic played a part, people being stuck at home looking for really great television.

"I think the cast is tremendously talented. I think the diversity aspect plays a part. And I feel like right now, and this is just me speculating, but people are going for exactly what they want. There's so much out there. No one cares about being told what to watch. I think it's great that people kind of are able to choose and luckily they've chosen us. So we're grateful, to say the least."

All American season 4 plot: What will happen?

With graduation getting closer by the day, the second half of season four will follow Spencer as he tries to finish high school relatively unscathed. But after his involvement with the trophy heist, and his refusal to snitch on any of the other players, that is not going to be easy.

In real life, Spencer Paysinger – who the lead character is based on – went on to play college football in Oregon. It's likely whatever happens, we'll be heading towards that next major stop.

You can also expect showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll to continue to cover other real-life issues, such as the Black Lives Matter movement, which was given a special episode in season three.

"You hope what you're doing is making a difference, and my goal for this episode was that hopefully it would lead to people understanding the pain and that we're at the point where enough is enough," Okoro Carroll said at the time (via Entertainment Weekly).

"But I don't know. It seems like nothing seems to make a difference sometimes. I try not to be disheartened by that and I try to put the authentic truth of that in the show, because we pride ourselves on these characters authentically portraying what it's like to be youth, and specifically Black youth, in America nowadays. And we hope that it makes a difference."

Let's desperately hope that, if the topic is covered again in season four, it doesn't have the same disturbing timing.

"I never in a million years thought that this episode would be airing days after another young Black teen was murdered at the hands of a cop," Okoro Carroll continued.

"I never imagined it would be airing right after the Derek Chauvin trial. I didn't think it would be airing right after Adam Toledo's murder. It's going to feel like I wrote it last week, and that breaks my heart because it means we haven't made the forward movement that I was hoping."
