Give me a minute Just one will do I′ll say goodbye to gossamer skies
The city will move out of frame But it's still you who remains Give me a minute Kiss me again I′ll say goodbye to cloudy blue skies I'd trade all I've got in my name For you instead of this pain Maybe it′s time to forget you Maybe it′s time to throw dirt upon your name Or place blame But it's no one′s fault No, it's no one′s fault We're just late I′ll give you a minute Let you have peace I'll say farewell, to what I can't tell I bet that you′ll do just the same And maybe I′m what remains

I'll say goodbye, to cloudy blue skies

For you instead of this pain
Maybe it's time to forget you
Maybe it's time to throw dirt upon your name
Or place blame
But it's no one's fault
No, it's no one's fault
We're just late
I'll give you a minute
Let you have peace

About
“Give Me A Minute” is the title track of Lizzy’s second album, allowing a theme to develop for the listeners. It was first performed on her YouTube channel about a year before release.
Lyrically, she tells her experience of falling entirely into a relationship, losing sight of her goals and priorities. Near the end of the track, she comes to terms that this isn’t what’s best for her, and decides to let go.

How was this song originally released?
Lizzy McAlpine originally performed “Give Me A Minute” via YouTube on May 6, 2019:
What have the artists said about the song?
I recorded this song in L.A. over winter break, I think, with Dillan who produced that [this] song and “You, Love”. And I wrote it at the end of my freshman year of college.
I’ve been seeing this, you know, guy and we weren’t committed and we were like, “Ok, it’s about to be summer, we’re about to leave, so let’s just end it when summer happens.” And we were both cool with that, and then I wrote this song right at the end of school and it was basically just like, “I hope you don’t forget about me, ‘cause I’m not gonna forget about you,” type vibe.
All my songs kind of happen very quickly. Like if I think about them too much, they’re not good. So many of them happen in 10-15 minutes and then they’re just a song and I’m like, “Ok, cool.”
