Occasionally a mistake during the publication can occur. It also happens that these errors don’t come from our platform. That is why we have prepared a collection of the most common Facebook errors so that you can find out where the problem is and follow our recommendations. Facebook error: (# 200) Requires either publish_to_groups permission and app being installed in the group, or manage_pages and
publish_pages as an admin with sufficient administrative permission (code 200, subcode null) Recommendation: The user who created the post or who wants to post to the Facebook group does not have permission to do that. Your access token has expired or has been invalidated Recommendation:
Go to //panel.postfity.com/?connectAccounts=true and click “reconnect to Facebook” to renew the token – accept all permissions and try to publish again after renewal. Received Facebook error response of type OAuthException: An unexpected error has occurred. Please retry your request
later. (code 2, subcode null) Recommendation: We do not know the cause of the unexpected error. It may mean something temporary, so on the FB page check whether the post was actually posted or not – it may happen that the post was posted a minute later even though the initial attempt was unsuccessful. However, if your post hasn’t been posted, try to schedule it and repost it later. Facebook error: It looks like you were misusing this feature
by going too fast. You’ve been blocked from using it. Learn more about blocks in the Help Center. (code 368, subcode 1390008) Recommendation: The page most likely publishes too often, contains content that is too similar, “spammy” content, or a combination of both. In such a situation, Facebook blocks the page, so that it can’t publish. Don’t post spam.1

Facebook error: (# 100) name parameter cannot be longer than 255 bytes. (code 100, subcode null) ‘null – null’
Recommendation:
This happens when you modify the default link title and it is too long – Facebook allows you to place a custom link title with a maximum of 255 bytes, which is approximately 255 characters long. So you need to shorten the link title.
6
Facebook error: Your message couldn’t be sent because it includes content that other people on Facebook have reported as abusive. (code 368, subcode 1346003)
Recommendation:
The error message is quite obvious – the content was reported as abusive by Facebook users and therefore could not be published. Don’t post this kind of content.
7
Received Facebook error response of type OAuthException: Invalid parameter (code 100, subcode 2061006)
Recommendation:
It usually happens when your URL is not in the correct format. Check the field with the pasted URL address and correct it. Then try again.
8
Facebook error: Permissions error (code 200, subcode 1609008)
Recommendation:
This happens when you are trying to post a link to Facebook in your post. You can read more about it here.
9
Received Facebook error response of type OAuthException: Service temporarily unavailable (code 2, subcode 1609010)
Recommendation:
Communication via Facebook API was temporarily unavailable, therefore it was not possible to process the publication at this time. On the FB page, check if the post was actually posted or not – it may happen that the post was published a minute later, even though the initial attempt was unsuccessful. However, if your post hasn’t been posted, try to schedule it and repost it later.
10
Received Facebook error response of type OAuthException: (# 32) Page request limited reached (code 32, subcode null)
Recommendation:
Your page has reached its API call limit. It is based on the number of people active daily (DAP) – the higher the DAP of your website, the higher the bid threshold. Once the threshold is reached, the page is blocked by Facebook and the only way to fix this is to wait for the page to unlock again.
11
Received Facebook error response of type OAuthException: Service temporarily unavailable (code 2, subcode 1363047)
Recommendation:
Communication via Facebook API was temporarily unavailable, then it was not possible to process the publication at this time. On the FB page, check if the post was actually posted or not- it may happen that the post was published a minute later, even though the initial attempt was unsuccessful. However, if your post hasn’t been posted, try to schedule it and repost it later.
12
Facebook error: (# 200) Insufficient permission to post to group (code 200, subcode null)
Recommendation:
The user who created the post or who wants to post to the Facebook group does not have sufficient permissions to do that.
- Make sure you are the group administrator.
- Reconnect to Facebook here – //panel.postfity.com/?connectAccounts=true and make sure you accept all permissions.
- Link your Facebook Group following this guide – How to Link a Facebook Group to Postfity
- Please try to publish again.
13
Received Facebook error response of type OAuthException: Invalid parameter (code 100, subcode 1349125)
Recommendation:
This is an invalid parameter error. It means that something is wrong with the content (text, image, link, …) – there are some gaps (e.g. no text – empty post), or some other type of error (e.g. the image weighs too much because it has an extremely high resolution, the URL is in the wrong format…), etc. Check the content (text, URL, image) and correct any “defects”. Then try again.
14
An unknown error occurred
Recommendation:
We don’t know the cause, we have no further information. We cannot do anything. In this case, try again later.
15
Facebook error: Please reduce the amount of data you’re asking for, then retry your request (code 1, subcode null)
Recommendation:
It can happen with Facebook pages that are not very active when they try to publish “heavy” posts (with text + link + image + person or page tag etc.). The solution may be to remove the mention of the other page in the post. If possible, skip other parts of your content (image, link) and then try to publish again.
16
Facebook error: Error validating access token: The user is enrolled in a blocking, logged-in checkpoint (code 190, subcode 490)
Recommendation:
This error can occur when your account is temporarily flagged by Facebook for security or privacy reasons – this could include suspicious login, inappropriate content, breach of terms, etc. We recommend:
- clear cache and cookies
- log in to your Facebook profile (or Facebook Business Manager)
- answer security questions when logging in, when asked
