When it debuted in 2005, this captivating Nick Cannon creation was filmed in Los Angeles. However, he revamped his production site during his 15 seasons. Despite the fact that MTV shows are mostly filmed in New York or Los Angeles, “Wild ‘N Out” breaks the norm. Over the years, filming for the show has taken place in New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. Let’s dive into more details!
Los Angeles, California
Seasons 1 through 4 of “Wild ‘N Out” were filmed in Los Angeles. The city is a common filming location for many MTV shows such as “The Hills” and “The Real World: Los Angeles.” The country’s entertainment industry is centered in the City of Angels, home to major production companies like Warner Bros., Columbia Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, and 20th Century Studios. This is one of the reasons why filmmakers and actors choose to live there, which helps them reduce their travel expenses.
New York, New York
The production of the fifth season has started in New York. They continued to shoot there until the seventh edition. Despite moving to a different location for season eight, the crew returned to New York to film the ninth episode, which was filmed at New York’s Playstation Theater.
Nick was adamant about bringing the show to Broadway as he felt some of the cast members needed a “theatrical experience”. Before the ninth season, Nick and a few other cast members went to Times Square in search of another addition to the cast. This turned into a series of competitions called “So You Wanna Wild Out”. Seasons 10 and 11 were filmed in Brooklyn.
Atlanta, Georgia
The producers moved the show to Atlanta in season 12 as Nick Cannon has many projects based in the city. Although fans were shocked by the unexpected transfer, Nick clarified that the culture is stationed there and its importance in the history of racial politics is immense. Plus, Nick and the producers took advantage of their move to Atlanta.
By filming in Atlanta, the production is eligible for a tax incentive that is offered to local television and film productions in addition to other benefits. Many of the cast members are Atlanta residents, and the city also has a strong presence in hip-hop, which defines Nick Cannon’s show. Therefore, it looks like the show is here to stay. Season 15 of ‘Wild ‘N Out’ was filmed from December 9, 2019 to December 18, 2019.
Jersey City, New Jersey
For the show’s seventeenth season, the team moved the production base from Atlanta, Georgia to the state of New Jersey, specifically to Jersey City. The city is located in Hudson County, in the northeastern part of the state. Filming began in the area on October 14, 2021 and wrapped up within days on October 25, 2021.

Multi-hyphenate entertainer Nick Cannon announced his wildly popular MTV Wild ‘N Out Live tour will return with dates all over the U.S. kicking off this March which includes a stop to State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Friday, March 6. Fans can expect stand up routines by their favorite Wild ‘N Out cast members including Karlous Miller, Emmanuel Hudson, Justina Valentine, Hit Man, Conceited, DJ D-Wreck and Pretty Vee (lineup varies by city), as well as live music performances from some of today’s hottest artists including platinum “My Type” and “Icy Grl” entertainer Saweetie. Additional special guests will be announced. Each night Nick Cannon and the cast will also invite members of the audience to join them for Wild 'N Out’s most popular games. The tour will bring together a comedy, variety and game show all in one to fans of the improv/competition show on each stop.

State Farm Arena is required to prohibit all bags, including briefcases, purses, luggage, and diaper bags, larger than 14" x 14" x 6" from being brought into the arena. Backpacks and hard-sided bags of any kind are also prohibited. Single-compartment drawstring bags and fashion backpacks or purses that are smaller than 14" x 14" x 6" are permitted.
State Farm Arena is a cashless environment. Card payment will be required at all ticket, food & beverage, and retail locations. No cash payments will be accepted.

- Aerosol cans
- Backpacks (with the exception of single-compartment drawstring bags that meet the NBA bag-size requirements and media backpacks that have been screened at the media entrance). Purses (including fashion backpack purses) and diaper bags that have the appearance of backpacks will be allowed, provided that they meet the 14" x 14" x 6" size requirement.
- Hard-sided bags
- Outside food or beverages
- Whistles, air horns, electric noise makers or vuvuzelas
- Illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia
- Fireworks
- Beach balls, frisbees, bats, clubs, or any projectile
- Laser light pointers
- Optical illusions (items intended to create optical illusions or interfere with the ability of the eye to perceive depth or distance, such as pin wheels or umbrellas)
- Cameras with interchangeable or detachable lenses, or fixed lenses larger than 3 inches are prohibited at State Farm Arena
- Poles, selfie-sticks, tripods, monopods and missile-like objects that can be thrown
- Drones
- Clothing, garments or signs displaying explicit language, profanity or derogatory characterization towards any person(s)
Bags that exceed the 14" x 14" x 6" size requirement can be checked outside the arena for a ($5) cash fee.
State Farm Arena Management reserves the right to prohibit other items as deemed necessary.
