What oil for audi a5

The kind of oil the 2010 AudiA5 takes iS5w-40. Having high quality oil is essential for the engine to run smoothly. You will run into issues with this fluid at some point. Bad oil can cause the engine to fail. A normal problem is a nasty burning smell. This needs to be looked into as soon as possible or the car might explode. Knocking noise may arise from the engine. You could experience poor gas mileage as well. Your oil needs to be changed eventually. Every 5,000 to 10,000 miles is a good rule of thumb. If You don't change it, there will be problems with the engine.

The first generation of the Audi A5 series was manufactured and sold between 2007 and 2016. A number of different body versions were available including the Coupe (Type 8T), Cabriolet (Type 8F) and the four-door Sportback S5. Since 2018, the 2nd generation of the Audi A5 has been available and once again comes as a coupe, convertible and Sportback variant (also in highly sporty Audi S5 and Audi RS5 versions). The following engines can be ordered as petrol engines: 1.4 TFSI and 2.0 TFSI as well as the S5 with its more powerful engine, which generates up to 450hp from a 3.0 litre engine. The TDI Turbo Diesel models are available with either a 2.0 or 3.0 litre engine

The A5 range is one of Audi's mid-size cars and operates in the same class as the popular BMW 3 Series, Jaguar XE, Mercedes C-Class and even the more recent electric Tesla Model S.

The Audi A5 comes with the following petrol engines: 1.8 TFSI, 2.0 TFSI, 3.0 TFSI and the particularly powerful FSI engines with 3.2L and 4.2L giving up to 450hp. There is also a range of Audi A5 TDI diesel including the 2.0, 2.7 and 3.2 litre giving a maximum output of 245hp.

As with all cars, ensuring you follow the Audi A5 oil change recommendations and keeping your engine oil topped up helps ensures problem-free driving. It is recommended that the oil in your Audi A5 must be changed after 30,000 kilometers at the latest or after 24 months (Longlife Service). The service interval display in the on-board display informs you about this.

What Engine Oil For Audi A5?

Every engine oil will have its viscosity grade labelled on the packaging. This will look something like 0W-20, 5W-30 or 5W-40. This grading is used to measure how thick / fluid the oil is and help ensure you buy the right oil for your car. The lower the viscosity grade of the oil, the more fluid and thinner it will be than those with a high grade (higher numbers) which will be much less running and thick.

So which engine oil should you buy for your Audi A5? Whether you are topping up your Audi A5 oil or doing a full change of your Audi A5's oil it is really important that you use the correct grade of oil.

Three ways to change the oil on the Audi A5

1) The cheapest way is to do the oil change yourself. You will need to order 5 litres of engine oil and the oil filter. Use the remaining oil to top up if the oil level is too low due to oil consumption and the oil lamp lights up.

2) Have the oil changed at an independent workshop. You can order the engine oil and oil filter and take it to a local garage for the oil change. You can use leftover engine oil later to top up to the correct oil level when oil is used up.

3) In the Audi workshop, keeping to the oil change interval is expensive. A litre of oil costs more here than if you buy online yourself and the work costs more too.
