What are the busiest days at universal studios orlando

You are here: Home / Trip Planning / What to Expect During the Busiest Times at Universal Orlando

Planning an upcoming trip and wondering when it is busiest at the Universal Orlando Resort? We’ve got the details for you today.

  • 3 Day Weekends.
    • Martin Luther King Jr
    • President’s Day
    • Easter
    • Memorial Day
    • Labor Day
    • Columbus Day
    • Veteran’s Day
Long wait times at Transformers: The Ride 3D.

  • Spring Break. If you are planning on visiting during your family’s Spring Break, do some research about how many other parts of the country will also be on Spring Break. Spring Break crowds tend to be highest the week before and after Easter.
  • Christmas Break. Like Spring Break, the week before and after Christmas is packed. Not only is school out, but many visitors want to experience special holiday events only offered seasonally.

What to Expect During These Busy Periods

  • It is more expensive. Everything from tickets to hotel rooms will cost you more.
  • You’ll experience ‘People Soup’. This is what the locals call masses of people everywhere you turn. Expect to be shoulder to shoulder with people wherever you go.

  • Wait times will be hours long. Lines will be long. Rides that aren’t worth a long wait will be an hour to two hours long.
  • Express Passes will be expensive. Express Passes are a great way to cut down the wait times, but will be expensive during busy times. Learn more about them here.

How to Enjoy Universal During the Busiest Times

  • Get to the parks early. Many vacationers don’t get to the parks until 2 to 3 hours after they open. Get there when they open. You’ll be amazed at how quiet they can be in the mornings.
  • Stay late. Stay until the parks close. You can get into any ride line right before the park closes and still get to ride the attraction. And, when you finish the ride, you’ll get to stroll through emptier parks (this makes for great pictures!)
  • Do both. Get there early, ride rides. Stay late, ride rides. People watch in between or hit the less popular rides. If you choose to go early and stay late, be sure to give young kids a break during the day.
  • Eat at off peak times. The most popular time for lunch is noon and dinner is 6pm. Save yourself time by eating a late lunch between 2pm and 3pm and a late dinner between 7pm and 8pm. Enjoy snacks in between, which you can buy in the park or bring with you.
