Established in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1862, the University of Massachusetts Boston is a public research oriented university where international and out-of-state students make up a large portion of the student body. The campus is on Columbia Point, a peninsula in Boston harbor that belongs to Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood, and is less than 15 minutes by train to downtown Boston.
