If you purchased a Straight Talk phone, it already comes with the SIM you need. However, if you decided to keep your current phone, you have to purchase a SIM card and install it before you can activate your device.

How do I change my Straight Talk SIM card and keep the same number?

Text ONESTEP to 611611 on your old device. You'll get a reply asking for the last four digits of your new serial number or new SIM card number. After you text the number, you will receive a confirmation with instructions to complete the activation of your new device or SIM. Note: Standard messaging rates may apply.

How do I activate my new Straight Talk phone but keep my number?

Please go to www.straighttalk.com/Activate and select the radio button option "Activate my phone with a new number or Reactivate with an existing or new number". You will be able to reactivate your Straight Talk phone with the same phone number within 30 days of your Service End Date.

Can you keep your own number with Straight Talk?

You can transfer (port) your current phone number to Straight Talk by going to www.straighttalk.com/activate. From there, follow the steps on the screen. Mobile phone transfers can take as long as 2 business days to complete, but in most cases, only takes a few hours. Landline phone number transfer may take longer.
