I tested them and put them up. Seems like good ones. Hope I never have to find out for sure. They are loud when tested, so you'll hear them for sure if something happens. Good to have for peace of mind and safety.

How good are combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors?

Few combination detectors are effective at detecting carbon monoxide, smoldering fires, and flaming fires, which is why we recommend that consumers use a combination of detectors in their homes for complete protection.

How many smoke detectors do I need for a 3 bedroom house?

Fire detectors should also be installed inside of every bedroom and outside of each sleeping area. For example, a two-story home with three bedrooms should have at least seven smoke alarms. Homes that have a set number of hardwired alarms can still place additional battery-operated smoke alarms throughout the house.

Where is the best place to put a smoke and carbon monoxide detector?

Carbon monoxide (CO) and combination alarms should be mounted in or near bedrooms and living areas, on a wall place six inches below the ceiling to six inches above the floor. If mounting on a ceiling, make sure it is at least six inches away from the wall.

What does 3 beeps mean on a First Alert smoke and carbon monoxide detector?

3 Beeps and a Pause: EMERGENCY. This type of chirp means that smoke has been detected in your home. You and your family need to evacuate and call 9-1-1 once safely outside. Low Battery or End-of-Life: This type of chirp indicates it is time to replace your smoke alarm's batteries or the smoke alarm itself.
