After you have placed an order on Amazon, you can update your shipping address anytime provided that your item hasn’t shipped yet. You can update your address right from your Amazon account homepage on your desktop or mobile app.

Keep in mind that if your order has already shipped, you won’t be able to change the address and you need to cancel the order and then place it again for the correct address.

Here’s how to change the shipping address on Amazon on desktop and mobile.

1. In your browser, go to the Amazon account home page and sign in if needed.
2. Navigate to “Account and Lists” and go to “Your Orders.”
3. Select the order that you want to change the shipping address for.
4. Click on “View Order Details” and select “Change” to modify your delivery shipping address.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen to change the information.

Change the shipping address on Amazon in the app

1. Open the Amazon app on your phone or tablet and go to your orders.
2. Scroll down to select the order that you want to change the shipping address for.
3. Tap on the order and scroll down to “Order Info”.
4. Tap on “Change this order” and follow the instructions to change the shipping address.

If the item you have ordered isn’t shipped by Amazon, you might not be able to change the shipping address. If the option to change the address isn’t there, you’ll need to request a cancellation and order the item again for the correct address.

To add a new shipping address on Amazon:

1. Launch the Amazon website in your browser on Mac or PC and sign in if you aren’t already.
2. Hover the pointer over Account & Lists menu.
3. Click Account from the menu that appears.
4. Scroll down the page, and under the Ordering and shopping preferences section, click the Your addresses link.
5. On the following page, you’ll see a list of your current addresses associated with your Amazon account. For example, here we have our address and a neighbor in case we’re out of town and need to have an item sent to them. To make one default, click the Set as Default link. Or, click the Add Address box to add a completely new address.

How to Change an Existing Shipping Address on Amazon

You can also edit an existing shipping address on Amazon.

To edit an Amazon shipping address:

1. Open the Amazon Your Addresses menu via the website.
2. Click the Edit button below the address you need to change.
3. Make changes to the address using the fields provided. It’s also worth noting that you can add optional delivery instructions like the door to leave packages, weekend deliveries, and more.
4. When you’re done, press the Save changes button.
5. After you change your shipping address on Amazon, you’ll probably want to set it as the default. Click the Set as Default link at the bottom to do this.
6. Next, remove the old address if you no longer need it. For example, if you move to a new apartment, you won’t need the old address, so click the Remove link at the bottom of the address you no longer need.
