I hate this town, it's so washed up
And all my friends don't give a fuck
They'll tell me that it's just bad luck
When will I find where I fit in?
2, 3, 4!
Remember when I tried?
I never strayed too far from you
Forever by your side
No matter what I was going through
But now I never know the things to say to you
That help me prove that
I'm still on your side
I never show just what you do to me
Cause I'm what's always wrong
I hate this town, it's so washed up
And all my friends don't give a fuck
They'll tell me that it's just bad luck
When will I find where I fit in?
I hate this town
Cause no one can understand
I just can't be tied down
Nothing comes between me and my plans
So now I never know the things to say to you
That help me prove that I'm still on your side
I
never show just what you do to me
Cause I'm what's always wrong
I hate this town, it's so washed up
And all my friends don't give a fuck
They'll tell me that it's just bad luck
When will I find where I fit in?
And don't believe a word they're telling to you
Don't believe a word they're telling to you
They let me down
When will I find where I fit in?
I hate this town
My world cannot ever bring me down
Gave everything I had to turn it back
around
Cause our time's worth something
Bigger than both you and me
I can't live my life always backing down
I gotta do this right, then they can't make a sound
Cause I'm not here for nothing
Least I can say I stand for something
(You and me, we stand for something)
I hate this town, it's so washed up
And all my friends don't give a fuck
They'll tell me that it's just bad luck
When will I find where I fit in?
And don't believe a word
they're telling to you
Don't believe a word they're telling to you
They let me down
When will I find where I fit in?
I hate this town

"All Signs Point to Lauderdale" is the second single from A Day to Remember's fourth album, What Separates Me from You, released on June 7, 2011.
Music and lyrics[edit]
Lead vocalist, Jeremy McKinnon wrote the lyrics, while the music was written by Tom Denney, McKinnon, guitarist Kevin Skaff, producer Chad Gilbert and A Day to Remember.[2] The title came from an occasion when McKinnon and bassist Joshua Woodard were in a rough neighborhood in West Palm Beach, Florida. The pair were walking down Drexel Road in the early hours of the morning; they looked up to notice signs saying "Fort Lauderdale".[4] In an interview with PopCrush in 2011, McKinnon said "All Signs Point to Lauderdale" was when you get the "feeling like you're stuck in a place that's leading you nowhere" and "standing up for yourself and taking charge of your life."[5] The song talks "about being young and stuck in a town that you feel like you don't belong in. Sometimes, you feel like you want to get away from everything and everybody and do your own thing."[6]
Release and reception[edit]
The song impacted radio on May 24, 2011.[7] The music video for the song was filmed in one day in Los Angeles when the group had a day-off from touring.[5] The idea for which came from the band's management.[8] The music video premiered on MTV2 on June 7, 2011.[9] "All Signs Point to Lauderdale" charted on both Billboard's Hot Modern Rock Tracks and Rock Songs charts, at number 32 and number 48, respectively.[10] The track was voted as number 10 in the "10 Best Rock Songs of 2011" by AOL Radio.[11] "All Signs Point to Lauderdale" is available as downloadable content for Rock Band games.[12] The song was included on Warped Tour 2011 Tour Compilation.[13] Rick Florino of Artistdirect called the song "incisive and infectious".[6]
